Check out this Google Pixel VS iPhone7 performance test

20 October 2016
There’s no denying that the iPhone 7’s A10 fusion chip is quite a beast. Fellow YouTuber Super Saf made a comparison video of the Pixel going head to head against the iPhone 7 in two speed tests. The first one is a performance speed test, which shows us the benchmark results between the two devices and both devices’ abilities to load and recall apps onto the RAM.

OSasmatteroffact, 22 Oct 2016Android processor manufacturer always catching up to Apple ... moreClock speed is irrelevant.

Nougat need to work out, in terms of gaming (optimising gpu?).

Sony XZ beats Pixel in gaming as well:

    (kudos 3gb ram xperia)

Gaming aside, I think Pixel still smokes iPhone and Xperia in real life combined with ergonomics and shortcuts : ex. location of fingerprint scanner (it doubles notification launcher), quick-switch feature on Nougat, doubleclicking to launch camera, accelerated annimation speed..etc
Besides, speed of unlocking and utility apps counts much more on me :-)
I'm gonna order one to replace two and half years old LG

Android processor manufacturer always catching up to Apple in terms of core and clock speed

Apple iPhone 3GS came with 600Mhz and Android catch to 800Mhz
Apple iPhone 4 came with 1Ghz and Android catch to 1.4Ghz
Apple iPhone 4s came with 1Ghz dual core and Android catch to 2Ghz dual core
Apple iPhone 5 came with 1.3Ghz dual core and Android catch to 1.5Ghz quad core
Apple iPhone 5s came with 1.3Ghz dual core and Android catch to 1.4Ghz octacore
Apple iPhone 6 came with 1.4Ghz dual core and Android catch to 1.8Ghz octacore
Apple iPhone 6s came with 1.84Ghz dual core and Androis catch to 2Ghz octacore with 4GB RAM
Now Apple iPhone 7 came with Quadcore and 2GB RAM the Android needs to catch with decacore and 6GB of RAM oh wait that's not enough, needs another couple of gigs in order 8GB RAM to beat the Apple's one and only flagship of the year

AnonD-496836, 21 Oct 2016Not bad compared with iphone because its the first google's... moreNope, Google's first smartphone was Nexus One which was manufactured by HTC knows as HTC Passion. Pixel is just a rebranding name for Nexus because Nexus is dead now

I don't think those milliseconds in real life are noticeable, however loading time of games is much higher in Android.

Makes me laugh when you people compare Android phones to Apple phones. Do you even know the difference between Android and iOS? Complexity of the OS. Boom! There's your answer for slower scores. On top of that iOS is being made to work on few devices, unlike Android, that runs on hundreds of phones and tablets.

AnonD-234961, 21 Oct 2016Basically the Pixel is actually significantly faster in loa... moreThe pixel is much slower when it comes to constructing and modifying the DOM. That's the primary contributor to the geekbench score. Take that away and you're looking at a 2500ish score.... still loads faster than anything else, but not by the margin indicated by geekbench.

Helmut Krantz, 21 Oct 2016Specs don't matter this time around because iPhone 7 burns ... moreiPhone has been destroying every other device for the last four iterations (since, iirc, the introduction of twister).
However, the pixel seems to be the first android device that has taken an apple-like approach to detail (certainly the biggest oversight was only going for ip53, the other issues-usd,ois, wireless charging seem to be deliberate, if arguable, design decisions) and software experience.

There's no getting around the fact that the iPhone has the fastest storage interface (nvme is so much lower overhead than the SCSI based ufs).
It will probably be late 2017, at the earliest, before android devices start moving to that protocol.

Not bad compared with iphone because its the first google's phone, right? Maybe someday google will be improve in os optimisation since they already build their own device.

If you check htc 10 vs iPhone 7 on YouTube, you'll find that htc is crushing iPhone 7.

krystian, 21 Oct 2016Yah thanks. I've done a lot of optimizations but they don'... moreWell, i understand. I have an ICONZ android tablet wich has low-specs, and i keep a VERY low number of downloaded apps on it cz of storage issues + i uninstalled the updates of Google apps and i don't update aps exept games and the Google keyboard cz of low storage issues too. I also clear cached data once in a while. I understand that your galaxy tab has many apps that are pre-installed, try disabling them if you want. Actually Touchwiz at that time was really laggy.

Anonymous, 21 Oct 2016That's the bit I don't like on androids. I need to do that ... moreWell, there are thousands of other phones in the android market, and there are phones who use amoled other than Samsung + they have a lighter and quicker skin ( Oneplus 3 which has a SAMOLED display and has close-to-stock oxygen os, Moto z with near stock Ui and Motomods , The Pixels wich reviewers say are snappy and are a direct competitor to Iphone, HTC One M9 with HTC Sense wich rarely or doesn't lag at all, like IOS).You see, with Android you have litterally TONS of different choices.

I am not gonna deny i am saying this cz i don't like Apple and Iphone, but if you want one, there are TONS of rumors saying Iphone 8 or Iphone 7s are gonna have OLED displays, probably made by Samsung, so if you really want an Iphone, i suggest waiting for 2017 Iphone ;)

I didn't say you have to do ALL of the things i detailed in previous comments, just try each one until your phone stops lagging, but in short:
PLZ delete the FB app cz it REALLY slows down android.
What i like about Android is that you can facets of it when you are bored of your current homesrceen ui look you can change it entirely ,not just the wallpaper like Iphone ( example: i use Nova launcher free version wich is snappy with CandyCons icon pack, and can you beleive i LITTERALY changed every app icon!!!!! I chose Motorolla's icon for camera ,Sony's one for Video Player........)

I also have to admit that Touchwiz does not seem to be perfect yet on S6 ,as there are some similiar cases to yours.

several reasons for not the IPhone this year anyway and I am not a hater. I just like the pixel unit but saw this today on why not the i7 https://youtu.be/XQbdDLEyhOE

Id g for Pixel. games generally are of no interest. I love the fresh classy build with HTC and Google is incredibly innovative so my support goes there. Besides. It is just so dam nice.
