if we want an official version of gingerbread i think most of us will need to get a new phone. HTC, SAMSUNG AND SONY spent time and money bringing 2.1 for free (whether late or not). I doubt they will do it again for 2.3, thats just a loss of sales for them.

seriously whats the point in android doing this when they are struggling to get 2.2 out. yeah you may have guessed im a unhappy samsung galaxy s owner still waiting for my FROYO update!! if it doent get sorted out soon i will give up with android and become a boring iphone4 or blackberry owner! because at least there organised...

Those guys are very far from being communicative... Too bad to have such a poor presentation. Android is not able to sell vapourware as well as Apple does.

and its not fair. Why the hell does the nexus one always get the updates first. there are better phones than that why dont they get the update.

and whats up with the gu... morethis update can support higher resolutions as its has support for tablets incorporated. The galaxy tab will get this as an upgrade. The main reason several other companies haven't released an android tablet yet is because their waiting for gingerbread,hence all the news of android tablets arriving early 2011 from lg,possibly htc etc. Current resolution on android phones is maxed out at 854x480 but rumours are of a 1000x600 resolution super amoled2 screen for the galaxy s2 in 2011,this resolution is easily supported as its closer top tablet resolution matrix.
Roll on the android revolution anyhow this is great news over all for everyone
