There are FW upgrades that address everything you are complaining about.

I have S8500XXJI3 and almost everything you say is done.

Even now we are expecting the new FW upgrade to BADA 1.2 which includes SWYPE as a text input method.

Nice phone and the operating system. I personally dont see any need of upgrade to 1.2. Mine is working fine. I am from Pakistan.

I've had my wave for a month now and the OS is seriously flawed. One year and no real update yet. Reading the gsmarena review you'd think it's a great phone except for the app store. Obviously the reviewer didn't use the phone for long. Biggest issues:
-Same message tone for emails and sms
-When the battery gets low, the phone becomes almost unusable due to power saving settings, yet it vibrates, the screen turns on and it beeps incessantly which just drains the battery further. This can go on for 4-5hrs...
-Memory management isn't great with it freezing fairly often
-Can't dictate email check download frequency (just days/time period) which destroys battery life
-Shuffle function in music player is useless
-Widgets are an app which sometimes need to be shut down to connect to a pc/when the phone crashes

There's more but this is all I can think of now. In a nutshell, 1yr of Bada and no update is not something to celebrate.

Now stucking with my old LG phone. But my next phone will be sure a samsung. I love their touchwiz menu. Samsung should release some cheap bada smartphone if they wanna make a fight with Other manufacturers.

In some firmware versions OTA update works already

Happy Birthday Bada :-) I switched to Samsung Wave after years of only Nokia usage, now I can't go back :-) for me, Bada is the perfect OS, beautiful design and letting me do whatever I want with it, no restrictions from Samsung. the only annoying thing: OS updates only available through computer, no over-the-air updates, but that's said to be changed in Bada's next generation...

Who cares about Bada OS? Maybe I'll be the only one who leaves a comment here.

Bada is OK for me. Actually it WAS ok until I got my iPhone 4. But Bada is a very very good alternative for those who dont want to spend so much money on a phone.

For example I spend my money on tech gadgets and I'd never buy a expensive furniture :P There may be othe people who think different. And for them Bada is very good.

I owned the Wave (1) and it was awsome. Good video, fluent menu, good games for casual gamers, awsome display colors and contast (resolution not so good coz of crappy PenTile).

I wish for this OS to survive for a longer time :)
