I bought hero SGD 750 (Approx. USD 550).
And HTC tells me it was lack of hardware, yet the XDA managed to put 2.2 in.
HTC. QUIETLY BRILLIANT!

Anonymous, 09 Dec 2010yeah, so wildfire can get froyo but hero won't coz it's too... moreSo you would actually change HTC to Samsung? Sorry, but Samsung has always been the worst of the bunch when it comes to updates. You could start by reading this...

I am starting to think there is something seriously wrong with Android update process. To me it seems only Nokia and Apple get this right.

Been using froyo ( FV 1.7 atm ) since summer and would never expect update from HTC - some custom roms out there are so much better and faster than HTC roms.

Its not worth to wait for them to get the latest updates, only thing i miss is my lite flash support.

yeah, so wildfire can get froyo but hero won't coz it's too old(14 monthes old that is) and lacks the (suitable hardware),, my self i bought hero 8 monthes ago for 250$ on a whole sale and i relly fell sorry to those who bought it for 600$ up to couble of weeks earlier,, HTC thinks that it forces it's old costumers to but desire or legend but they forget other companies like samsung who update entry models like spica along flagships like galaxy S,, personally i don't think i'd go for an HTC product once more,,

                  Hi hTC,

We all Hero Owners have faith in you, I have badly recommended this devices to a lot of my friends and they all are early adopters, now after updating it to Android 2.1 it has become really slow, and since Froyo is a big improvement in terms of speed and performance, this can be really helpful to make our Hero faster.

We are not asking for Gingerbread, we are ok with Froyo because speed has become really an issue.

Please help us by rolling out Froyo for Hero.

                  Thanks.
                  Hero Owners.
