Pascal architecture equipped gpu s have insane editing power
CUDA cores are completely utilized by editing programs by adobe , maya ; fusion etc
Enabling gpu acceleration pascal series stomps multithreading in terms of coding
Ex : gtx 1080 can make 7100 attempts per sec... in cracking hexadecimal passcode
If u think macs re great in editing and coding .. you re wrong ...
Gaming laptops... stomps macs in terms of editing too.. optimization?
Use linux ... problem solved

Not that old fashioned anyway, I do not mind that the jack has gone from the 7/7+, didn't really use it on my 6+ anyway. ;)

1) gtx 1080 in s... moreI don´t get people who buy´s Macbooks for gaming (or just surf and check facebook on for that matter). Totally pointless.
If i wanted to game, i would purchase that computer you just listed the specs too.
Macbooks are first and foremost (to me) a powerful tool to code, produce music, photoshop pictures and autocad stuff on, as Macbooks are fast, stable and reliable on that field.
And that is the reason i use Macbooks..
For gaming?? Give me a break.. Gaming are primarily for Windows PC´s.

AnonD-259152, 28 Oct 2016When it comes to laptops, apple is the bestI absolutely agree. But Apple Macbooks have gone down the spiral drain since Jobs hung up the phone. I love working on Mac´s, as they are powerful in their own right, stable and plug and play-able.
What i don´t like what they have done with it is:
-Non upgradable out of the box. (Hardrive can be upgraded from 3rd party vendors like OWC)
-Changed the Magsafe from Bananplug type to straight protruding ones which sucked..
But now..
-Removed Magsafe alltogether (This was the great part with macs anyway, Job´s pride)
-Priced themselves out of the market. Only secondhand buy from me from now on.
-Removed SD Card slot. This will hurt a large market since many photographers love to use Macbooks for editing and Canon/Nikon cameras still use SD Cards. On the sidenote, they were great for us who don´t use it at all.. But instead, serves as a cheap storage-upgrade by sticking in a 256gb card for more space instead of changing modules that costs 400-500 dollars.. I guess Apple wanted to stop us for the latter part.. and force us to buy new macs with better higher storage instead of using the SD Card trick (that or because they want to make it Macbook thinner and needed to ditch the SD).
And that is pretty much the only option now.Buy a new Macbook for more space.. Bummer.
Sucks for me who still have my 256GB SSD mac.. Im in dire need of more space since i started with music production that requires alot of space.
-Kills of USB 3 in favour of USB-C. Im not fully informed or have read up on USB-C yet. If i just need to get a new cable to connect my Audio hardware and MIDI keyboard, then ok.. no hassle..

As always, apple selling a laptop with a poor GPU for more than 2k........., its better to buy an msi, asus or dell, for that price you can get a gtx 1070 and a 4k display

As much as I really like Apple Macs I will never buy one for the simple reason it does not have a CD-ROM drive. Yes you can purchase one to plug into the USB port but this is an extra cost for something that is essential to todays life. Apple Music & Spotify do not have all the CDs that I want to listen to & own so any that are missing I need a drive to add them on. I do want to take up extra space when playing simple games that I can download & I find disk games are far more reliable that downloaded Stream games. Any films that I want to watch I want be able to use them on a USB Stick, DVDs I have will need to ripped to my Mac to then put on a USB stick. Yes I can find somewhere to download it illegally but what is the point of that if I have the DVD/Blueray anyway? Removal of the jack from the iPhone I can live with, removal of the drive is something that I can not.
