Survey showed 12 out of 24 Note7 owners switched to iPhone

28 October 2016
Research firm IDC surveyed 1,082 U.S. customers of the Note7 through on online survey on October 17 and 18, just a few days after the phone maker decided to permanently discontinue the productivity-focused phablet.

Then why do u think all companies have legal departments.
Apple wants to avoid unnecessary lawsuits. What if a music company tomorrow files a lawsuit against apple saying their phones allow illegal music files to be shared across devices ???
Of course apple is a tech company, they can limit file sharing to only pics and docs ... but again its apple and thats how they work. Why do u think it took them 8 versions of ios to fix their major flaw in keyboard ??? ... capslock key now shows capital letters when enabled and they cannot even implement "Clear All" notifications without relying on force touch .... they are adamant and do not want to implement simple features and u think they gonna allow file sharing ?????
come on man ... everyone should know how apple works by now !!!!!

Of course Apple could always change industry and start offering legal services. In fact if it does something like that it might avoid to have to invest in irritating things such SoC design, or having to search the whole market just to buy a camera module or a display.

That is there policy which goes with their company's policies that u have to do everything legally whether u r buying music or movie or any thing. Of course one can still transfer illegal music from PC to phone but that just limits the illegal file sharing. they are cutting off few ways to avoid any lawsuits :P Apple legal department is one of the best and apple will do whatever the legal team thinks is the best !

If you really want to share pics why don't u try "Shareit" app ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Any user has the right to decide if and how they are going to use either bluetooth or NFC, but at least they should have the choice. By intentionally crippling both the iPhone & the iPad, Apple takes this choice away from users. In addition, when you share a file via bluetooth you only share it with the person you want to share it. On the contrary, when you send a file via WhatsApp, iMessage, Facebook Messenger or email, you necessarily share your data with third parties without knowing how these data will be used, something which is also true for Cloud based storage. When you save a photo or a video of yourself or of the people you love into the microSD card of your smartphone, then only you have access into these data, something which cannot be said when you store these same files into the cloud. As far as the risk of a microSD card going corrupt, the solution is to backup everything into your computer as often as possible. Usually convenience and security are two entirely different things that as far as PCs and smartphones are concerned one contradicts the other. Finally, as far as signal strength is concerned, accurate measurements can be made only inside a laboratory which is a controlled environment, since signal strength is influenced by so many factors that any measurements taken out of a strictly controlled environment are destined to be inaccurate. The performance of SoCs is essential to everyone since they are responsible for the performance of the smartphone, meaning how much it will lag and for how long among others.

But for that ghosting part, I watch movies on my phone all the time never really noticed any purple tail or what so ever. Maybe cause I didn't look for it. But it's a compromise I'm willing to make to get that vibrant feel of an OLED. But I respect other people's opinion, so I'm really not here to convert you to android. Hope you're rocking that iPhone.

Well thats so obvious ... if one premium phone flops they chose other premium device.
This just proves that android premium market is owned by Samsung !!!!
Even pixel cannot save android if there is no samsung. No samsung No android !!
All LG, pixel ,stock android, huawei, one plus, xiomi, htc, sony users must be soooooooo jealous ... lol !!

Most things I send, & I guess most people send, can be sent via Whatsapp, iMessage, Facebook Messenger or email. I value Cloud based storage more useful than a SD card. Find it more convenient & less risk of it going corrupt like a SD card. My 7+ has way better signal than my G5 so I guess this may be based on what country you live in.

As for SoCs, yes, I agree with you there but still not essential for everyone.

Any Android smartphone, not just Samsung, has both bluetooth & NFC unlocked meaning that both can be used for various purposes. On the contrary any iPhone can't send data through bluetooth and can only use NFC for Apple Pay. In addition, most Android smartphones offer microSD card slot meaning that the user can expand the internal memory whenever he/she wishes to do so without paying a lot of money. On the contrary, not only Apple isn't offering a microSD card slot but it also charges very high prices for the models with increased internal memory. Finally most of the flagship Android smartphones are equipped with modems from Qualcomm which on average offer 30% better signal strength in comparison to the iPhone 7 models equipped with Intel modems, which Apple chose to use because Microsoft which isn't such a big player in mobile modems and wanted to increase its market share gave them an offer which Apple simply couldn't resist. Of course, the fact that its iPhones wouldn't be able to offer comparable signal performance to the rest Android flagship smartphones wasn't that important to Apple which only cares in maximizing its profit margin. By the way, Apple is interested in maximizing its profit margin to such an extend that if it wasn't for Android smartphones featuring powerful SoCs we still wouldn't be able to record 4K video.

First of all I have read most of the comments here and I must say that people always like to favour one brand over another. Lets get one fact straight here there will always be Apple supports and there will be Samsung supporters. They might even cross over from one platform to another. Samsung came out with a good device unfortunately it backfired on them with the battery does not mean Samsung is crap at all also IPhones has come out with one of its best phones so far yes it has a resembling of the IPhone 6s but new features like water proofing and stereo speakers are a nice touch. I have used android for over 4 years and prior to that IPhones now after the note 7 battery issue I had to return and go for an iPhone 7 .

This could be because Samsung here in Spain are only giving you one option and that is a refund. You have to give back the phone, the VR headset and any other gifts you were given for preordering. And you have no idea when you will get the refund, very unhappy with Samsung
