LG Optimus One will get updated to Gingerbread after all

Either someone made a mistake in that Facebook post or it was the public outcry, but the LG Optimus One P500 will be allowed to enter the Gingerbread house after all. The whole 1GHz processor speed requirement...

Until Adobe makes it work on ARMv6 processors (which they say they are working on), Flash won't be supported even on Gingerbread. Flash requires an ARM Cortex A8 processor..

                        Now if only Samsung would come out & clearly state if the Galaxy S will get the update. Personally, I think the company should ALWAYS update the device so long as the hardware requirements are met. This fad of only looking after their flagship models while even the "slightly" older models gather dust is quite disgusting

                                Jones, 11 Dec 2010Didnt LG say somebody posted that prematurely. So that was ... moreThey did and LG commited to upgrading the O1 to Gingerbread. I was refering to the X10 and SE promised to give us Froyo, 16M and MT on Q1 and Q2 of next year.

                                    Guys, you need to understand - performance cannot be measured in MHz. 1GHz Snapdragon was just relative required performance. It ain't that fast as you can thing and there are much more circumstances. P500 offers pretty much needed same performance.

It's 256 K but I'm still mad at SE for not providing us the updates that would push the X10 to its full potential. I'm not sure but maybe this is part of their business strategy and make us want to upgrade our phones when the Anzu comes out.
