you can just buy a ... moreWow, you should get out more! Or perhaps just open your eyes. Most laptops cost less than the flagship phone that people get, much, much less. The last two laptops I bought were $10 and $200, less than the last phone I bought which was $280.
The trend is for people to buy less expensive laptops and more expensive phones. Neither should be disposable.

With that price I can custom buy a Gaming/Business/Entertainment Laptop that is 3/4x more powerful. Also able to install different OS from Windows, Mac(Hackintosh), Linux(Any Distros), Android x86, etc. even multi-boot them all together.

*but*, it allows for the OEM to sell more phones in the long run, as batteries are consumables. Sealing it in makes the phones a consumable as well, not letting people to keep them for more than 2-3 years without issues.
It's an excellent case where the industry is working against the consumer and the consumer being none the wisest eating it up. See the Note 7 issue for example. Was the battery replaceable (like in older Notes) it would probably be an easy to solve issue...

I don't really find this surprising when Apples strategy is clearly just removing all standardized ports and components and replace them with proprietary stuff. This way if you want to modify, repair or extend the products Apple will always get a cut. (and don't have to pay royalties to someone else)

I read somewhere that the fancy new feature Apple been talking about the MacBook which is the OLED Touch Bar are being supplied by Samsung.

To be fair, most devices are going this route due to miniaturization. Android phones are now in all-in-one form factors with non-replaceable batteries like the iPhone, something they used to vehemently insult Apple for.
Secondly, the devices are not impossible to repair, only that it is harder for normal consumers to repair. Third party companies will probably pop-up and provide repair services, as this opportunity in the market crops up.

the usage of laptops is different by different people..there are a lot of them who don't use it like us, i.e as wall huggers..so they will be going through at least a single cycle in a day, and a laptop battery is usually rated for about 600 cycles..that projects to about 2 years..not much different than the phones..and cellphone batteries are good..i still have a nokia n8 that can go through a full battery cycle without any problem, its 5yrs old...the problem with sealed in batteries are more for a mobile person who has to stay away from the wall for more than say 10hrs..then a user removable battery comes into play, you get cheap batterypacks to juice up phones, but finding ones that can power your laptop is a chore...
well i suppose everyone has their point of view...

Phones normally have all components on one board, surface mounted, and the slightest damage ruins the whole device most times.
People DO NOT expect a laptop, which can cost significantly more, to be a throw away device. Yes, "ultra books" are going that route to try and save weight, but those are for people with more money than brains. I work with more than a few of those.
My four year old Dell M6700 workstation does just fine, has a battery that is still at +90% capacity, and I can replace every part in it if need be. I have upgraded the RAM, drives, and have even considered upgrading the display, but I like the matt finish more than the glossy True Color display that was available for it when new.
So, I have a laptop that will probably do me quite well for another four years. So, $3,1000 dollars total spent initially (including the upgraded RAM and hard drive), divided over 8 years equals $400/year.
Try getting that return on an Apple laptop that will be locked into it's original, frozen in time, hardware configuration and see if you are still happy with it after even 4 years.

Of course i own a phone , many of them s3 s4 s5 s6 s7 edge iphone 5s lg g4 , lg nexus 5x lg g5 but at least i can replace the battery and almost everything it s going that way but.... here i can show a diagram of what Apple certified Technician has to to with broken mac :
Problem : machine doesn start
Solution : 1 hold xxxx keys
2 Check battery
3 Replace motheboard
4 Replace ssd
5 Replace display
That s what a professional would do if he has in stock the part to change and verify for me that s not a profesional repair , and of course billing you almost the same price of a new one . Thanks god for the apple upgrade for 3 years warraty Greets to all

Most of the low repair score is becuase the battery is glued and the ram and ssd is not upgradable. This is exactly how phones are built.
And, most importantly, phones and Apple laptops are very repairable. There are lots of stores that will repair them for you. It just needs to be done by a professional. What they're not is upgradeable.

Ok so Apple doesn t want you to repair any of its inmaculate products . I ve using macs since 90s and i love their products But nowadays they close the hole enviroment so Apple is selling you a product that once fail you ll better trash it unless is under warranty . So bad ...
Or pay significants amounts of money for the repair . Shame on you apple .....the same shame that you get after no improvements in MAC PRO desktop line at least in the specs for more than 3 years .
