walking around catching pokemon in teh real world/vr an being able to still trade an battle with your friends would be excellent

But without those features, I see no reason to download it. Walking around collecting pokemon an only fighting "gym battles" is gimped,

I do think that a very simplified battle system would suit mobile better, an leave the more intricate aspects of pokemon [breeding, IV/EV] for the console's

    Like, I want to train my pokemon new attacks, and like you said, use them in order and with a bit of thought.

    The Gym battles are super buggy and the graphics a little underwhelming. For a game like that, they could certainly put in more effort...

    Nintendo DS - although I never played it - appeared to be like the perfect setup.

        gam30, 07 Nov 2016looks like you want everything without doing anything. Oh whatever. I've been playing since July, am at L26 and things are just getting plain boring - I was playing the original pokemon back in 1996 and THAT is what I want again, to be frank...

        Were you even able to hold a game boy back then?

          Its boring now since after catching 100 you dont ever see anything new and if you do want something new you have to stick Squirtle on your shoulder and walk 150km, sorry im not walking from york to peterbrough just for a blastoise

For the same reason that I like the fallout games but my brother hates them. As it happens the game is good but has now become stale. It requires more innovation to rejuvenate it.

                  No one plays this dead pile of crap er I mean game anymore. Lol.

                    Niantic should not have been the company releasing POGO.

                    TPC or Nintendo should have bought over Niantic for the tech and put together a bigger team. Sad that a game with such innovation and promise is going down as quickly as it began because Niantic simply doesn't have the manpower / strategy to handle a game of this proportions.

                    The handling of cheaters were too little too late. And then they went ahead and disable game access for root/jailbroken devices for all cheaters/non-cheaters alike...

                    Friend battles, pokemon tradings and other staples of a pokemon game are glaringly missing after months of release.

                    The hype they built with their trailer about pogo events never materialize. And their PR sucks

                      Stopped playing since I caught Pikachu and put it on my shoulder. No meaning catching rattatas and pidgeys after that, wasting smartphone battery power. And many new games are produced everyday, no point to stay on this one for so long.

And if you don't live in a big city: Weakest Pokémon(Zubat, Pidgey, Rattata)3 PokeStops and if you are lucky, 1 GYM at 15 miles of your place... So, yeah...

                          I don't know why people does not like this game, I like it , I'm playing with it, even if my cell phone is not supported. I always being downloading APK for playing.
                          Just people that does not like walking, I now it's not what the most of you are expecting and I also want battle with friends but we have to wait.. by now I have 99 pokemons registered but I still have caught Pikachu hahaha so bad

                            seriously, that's pokemon. Collect, battle, trade rinse repeat... why didn't they include the friend battles on day 1 I do not understand

                              This game is dead. Long dead. I'm sure it now has less than 50 million players.

                                not doing it until i can throw my phone to catch pokemon....hehe jokes apart, pokemon go has lost its flair..it was a new thing everyone wowed at it for sometime, then it died

This is just throwing balls and collecting every single one. But you should better have a team of 6 pokemon, rest in "storage system" (ok this is already pretty much the case), and not always catch pokemon but fight with them and the thing most missing is a good fight system like in normal pokemon, not this type of hectic tapping all over the screen.
