Come on... a couple of less mm but look at the photos... all plastic like a toy... and now look at the iphone... man... this LG B is nothing new for the market is the same shit with different smell. Its not the size, its not the brighter or the thinner... Its the support and variety of apps/games thats all about... not forgetting the quality of that programs. (talking about not having ONLY plain JAVA shit games and apps.)

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2010http://gizmodo.com/5356411/local-dimmed-lcd-vs-normal-lcdUgh!
Toshiba is such a douche.
Why still insist on developing old LCD.
Even if it's called local diming bla bla bla it's future is not as bright as those vivid, true black AMOLED.
LCD is just......... plain outdated.

I really like the approach LG are taking. They seem to have sacrificed this year to bounce back powerfully in 2011. LG mobile division will have a very successful 2011 if they continue in this 'revolutionary' manner. Goodluck to u guys. Hope Sony Ericsson follow ur footsteps.

No power consumption when showing black is not impossible at all, it's just a matter of turning off the LED backlight like it's done on many LCD TV's (Local dimming).

I was wondering what happened to LG... In 2009 they had unique phones like the GD900 Crystal, and the BL40 New Chocolate, but in 2010 all they released where some cookie's with 3" resistive screens and 2 megapixel camera...
Seems in 2011 they are coming back! I've had the LG BL40, and I really love S-Class (except for the lagging).
I only hope 1 thing: that all manufacturers will work on camera in 2011...
I mean, Galaxy S is a super expensive phone but only comes with 5 MPix camera WITHOUT FLASH!!
Most high-hend phones now have only 5 MPix or even less, some have 8 but terrible quality. I have a Desire HD and have compared it to my BL40 5 Mpix camera and my LG actually was the winner !!
So if they put a camera that is as good as the N8, or even beats it, I'll buy this phone no matter what the price is! But I'm guessing it will be another 5 Mpix camera.... :-(

An IPS panel cannot consume zero watts despite displaying only black.
This is not like OLED (or AMOLED which is based on similar technology).
IPS is basically an LCD display with a semi-transparent display filled with liquid crystals, through which a light-emitting panel shines a light through, thus known as backlight. The above would suggest the panel turns its light source off only when the display executes a 100% 000000 (black), but what's the point in that in mobile apps? As long as there is ONE pixel that's not black, the light needs to turn on otherwise the user can't see it.
Where as in OLED or AMOLED, each individual pixel has it's own light source meaning the panel doesn't require a backlit plane. Hence, why OLED and AMOLED panels are touted as energy saving; black is quite literally black (ie, the pixels turn themselves off), and which is how the two display types have HUGE contrast ratios (ie, black in a dark room looks black, not sun-faded grey).
Hence, that Twitter info table is fake. Or, that LG phone pictured simply has a brighter-than-usual display running on some custom video-output drivers to achieve better contrast and brightness ratios.

The harde the competition the vlower the prices.I never pay a great deal for high end phones but I think as the number of high end phones increases the prices of mid range phones decreases.so I am happy to see such great phones from lg are releasing.bravo lg.
maybe in the near future we can buy phones with 4 inch displays for reasonable prices.

Very intersting........but what's more interesting are the photos. Why have the guy's fingernails been deleted? Is he embarrassed about biting his nails? Does he have strange tattoos on the end of his fingers which could identify him as the source of the leak? Is he in fact ET in disguise and his fingers light up in the presence of new phones?
I think we should be told.

LG certainly do possess a more than significient share of genius within its statoscopic perspectrum parexess the SPP of the which we can only attribute the gains to superior objective planning and great forsight within their ranks at this time,
and this is most probably due to the tilt and shift of the Earths finitive parexess which is something that at this time is being revealed to me, in moderation of course nevertheless i am more than happy with the intelligence i have managed to digest thus far so all i can say at this time is GREAT GOING LG stick to your guns and do not look back because together we are going to rule the universe cheers and kudos to the Great Optimus 2X...... P990 STAR........ XXXXX
