I wish people would stop posting these misleading announcements.

AT&T is nowhere close to releasing Froyo. They first have to figure out how to disable the features they don't want us to have; like tethering and 3rd party apps.

I just wasted an hour, after stumbling across this article, trying to find the official release or announcement from AT&T or HTC.

You folks should shut up until you actually know what you're talking about.

Don't you think that it's weird that it's Android 2.2 but the actual version number is 2.37.708.5 ?
isn't it supposed to be version 2.2x.xxx.x ? (because 2.3 is gingerbread and not froyo)

Contrary to what is usually stated, all personal information, settings and apps survive the update. I only had to re-enter the mobile data APN settings.

Folks with AT&T don't hold your breath on this one. It'll probably be next year sometime before AT&T finally pushes out an update. You'd be better off rooting and load either a custom ROM or loading this ROM once it is available for download.
