you guys are looking this from the wrong side, Nintendo is not launching this to compite with the actual consoles, this is a different market for gaming and portable consoles, they gave up on that by killing the Wii U production. they are moving to a different fied, I would buy this for my son, it is enough to keep him happy and even my wife who doesn't like games is excited about it just to play Mario and simple games, so just don't imagine this as a competition against PS4 and Xbone by asking for 4K resolution

The Wii Mote was an actual revolution (hence the code name Revolution) that was pertinent for the industry. We'll have to see if the hybrid design of the Switch will compensate for the lack of power.

This ONE feature - Nintendo Switch comes with TWO controllers, is seriously the overlooked game changer. Multiplayer by default, will be the reason Nintendo Switch will dominate, period.

You hold it much closer than a TV, in fact it's probably less sharp than a 720p TV if you hold it about 1 foot away (whilst sitting about 8 feet away from the TV).

That said, the latest Tegra chip is 4K@60fps capable, but the graphics quality probably will take a huge hit.

That being said, 720p really isn't that bad for the rumored 6.2" display. It's at least as sharp as 1080p gaming on a 50"+ TV.

As for power, at 720p the Switch should be at least as powerful as the Xbox One and maybe even the normal PS4. The real question is at what resolution will the games will run when hooked up to a 1080p/4k TV.

I think it will have the latest Tegra chip. The screen may be very poor, like 720p or 900p, no 1080p at that price.
