Lying Apple, there are no production issues. You just don't want to pay Samsung what they want to make the OLED panel for you. Samsung for years have been making components cheap for Apple and they have been digging out our eyes with their ridiculously high price for a phone that trailing behind in terms of features. Now that Samsung refused their cheap offer, they went shopping in Taiwan which cannot match the production of Samsung so they claimed production issues. Fraud Apple

To me it is something that can be used like the old Filo-fax diaries where you can store appointments in the calendar, store reminders, use a SatNav, view & reply back to emails, go on the internet, use an alarm, view world time, multi task, contact people via different ways (call, text, email, social media, messaging apps), use a calculator, download apps, take pictures, view pictures, take videos, watch videos, download pictures & videos. All this an iPhone can do. Anything I missed for a 'real' Smartphone?

I have been using Apple devices for over 10 years & I choose an iPhone because all my music was already on iTunes as I had a 160GB iPod (side note, feels strange that I had a device that had a huge 160GB storage & now phones have upto 256GB!) so it was natural that I had an iPhone as all my music would sync over easier. Always loved the design of the iPhone & was not disappointed that the 7/7+ was a slight refresh to the 6/6+ & the 6s/6s+ as they done a few things that people wanted, namely moving the antenna bands.
But the people out there with a brain cell would of realised that there was not going to be a massive over haul of the 7/7+ when next year is the anniversary of the iPhone next year & they will do something special then.......but you iHaters would of thought of that, would you!?

They don't really care about your idea of a "real" smartphone. That's what you guys never seem to get. As long as it's easy to use and works well the vast majority of people are happy.

"As you may know, Samsung is a big proponent of AMOLED panels for its high-end devices", correct me if i'm doubly wrong.. i brlieve samsung uses amoled in all or almost all of their smartphones and thus, since when did galaxy j, a, on, etc series become high end devices?

I always liked Apple (and still do - I would not change my Macbook) - my last Android phone I bought was a Samsung long time ago. And Apple is still top in the processor performance - potentially because of the great optimisation between processor, OS, and memory usage.
Anyway, I personally do not care about Apples 10th anniversary. Bringing out an iPhone 7 which looks like a phone years ago, made me now switching to Android.
Because I orientate on what is out there NOW, and beside the OS, those phones out there from the competition look cooler and cooler every day. The iPhone 7 is the first phone which let me stay totally disappointed - and if the media is writing all over that it might be because of the next iPhone will be really cool...
Great that Apple might bring out something cool for their anniversary. I will check then if I really want to switch back to Apple.

The iPhones are a little more functional than feature phones, and have better specs and a bit more features. But they a just a step to the today's real smartphones.
