With a 5.5" screen, it will have a more acceptable pixel density.

        The experience on the 6.4'' is addictive so why step down to 5.5''? You still need two hands to operate both devices. Not to mention that its size in 6.4'' form is almost the same as the iPhone plus.

          I predict they won't be able to achiever nearly as good of a screen to body ratio at that screen size. Smaller phones with high screen to body ratios are rarer. The engineering is limited by the absolute size of the bezels, not the relative size. So the smaller the phone's screen, the harder it is to get the screen to body ratio down. I expect them to do only slightly better than samsung did with the S7 Edge (76%), maybe 78%, matching the Note 7 which has a barely any larger screen. Remember the 6.4 inch Mi Mix is also only 83.6% screen, contrary to xiaomi's marketing claims. Sharp's (the company that taught xiaomi how to get rid of bezels) attempts to make "bezel-less" 5.7 inch phones has led to only a 78% screen to body ratio (see Sharp Aquos Xx). They might manage to do 78% at 5.5 inch this time if they learned anything new in the meantime, but it's an upper bound estimate.

            Anonymous, 19 Nov 2016Rumoured size for Mi Mix Nano: 133x70mm Nexus 4: 134x69mm ... moreI'll believe it when I see it, but I'll take your word on it for now lol

              Xiaomi is one of minority of companies that listen to their customer feedback and actually build phones upon received feedback. Although I believe in Xiaomi improving their phone build quality in the future in Mi Mix Nano's case they'll probably stick with the same hardware as its bigger phone as this is basically the same phone with reduced screen.

                So, yeah, same size give or take. Which is why it will be called nano, it will be the shortest flagship and one of the narrowest too..

                              XL= Extra Large bezels
                              Pixel XL= iPhone 6S brother/look alike
                              I will most likely be cradling the PXL right now if not of those bezels. Not a fan of huge bezel..been saying that for years about HTC and their difficulty to move away from huge bezels, black logo bar etc.
                              That's why I am in love with the MI Mix, Mate 9, the rumored upcoming Galaxy S8

                                In short it will be smaller than any and all of the current flagship, despite the bigger screen.

And if it still faces signal problem then the issue is not with the metal outside but with the size of the antenna inside, because the manufacturers are reducing the size of the antenna to make the phone compact which in turn causes signal issues.
