Anonymous, 30 Dec 2010And what's wrong with having one central program to synch, ... morei can do it through ovi suite but i don't need to all the time since i have a slot to expand storage i do it on that like a 1 or 2gb card or even better back up all my stuff using USB -OTG and toss my 2gb flash in my drawer until i need it
i don't need a laptop 24/7 just to do small things
i even back up my contacts via ovi sync OTA

I think that's much better than fragmented services. With itunes, I can keep track of all the media files I bought. I have one central place to call if ever I need assistance, and since everything is done via itunes, troubleshooting and resolution of an issue would be easy. It's called "integration of services". Also, you don't need itunes to create a playlist. You can do it on your iphone or ipad. It would only be undesireable if you are the type of user who doesn't like to buy his/her media files because you're either a cheap person, or simply have no money, hahahaha.

and yea i don't need to sit there and waste time watching itunes convert all my music and movies lol cause my n8 supports very much every codec available for videos lol

[deleted post]I can also carry video clips and hd movies on my iphone. I can also hook up my iphone to a tv to play hd videos. But like I said, why would I use my iphone for that when my hd movies and video clips are also stored on my ipad. And videos look much better on the bigger ipad screen than my iphone, and I could give my iphone a rest and use my ipad instead that has a longer battery life. And why would I use my iphone to play hd movies when I have a great bluray player. Is it really necessary for me drain my iphone's battery just because it can play videos? Not practical. And it would be a pain for me to walk to my tv all the time and unhook my iphone when someone calls me or sends me an sms, or if I need to check my FB which I do a lot. Very impractical and not necessary and misuse of a device :)

Because I find it impractical and unnecessary. I don't need to carry a camera with me because my iphone4 takes very good pictures. My iphone already has ipod built in and has tons of gaming apps. So I don't know why you say that I have to carry with me a camera, an mp3 player, and a game console. There's no statistic that shows 80% of iphone users jailbroke their iphones. You are such a liar. ALL smartphones are challenged with battery life efficiency. Using it as an external harddrive will just add to that problem. I already use my iphone a lot for listening to music, web browsing, games, sms, phone calls and emails. Give your device a break. I didn't buy my ipad and my macbook pro to collect dust. There are things that I prefer to use my ipad or laptop over my iphone. So again, unless you only have your smartphone to depend on as your harddrive, it is quite silly to use it as your external harddrive, because once you lose it, all your data is lost as well.

I can also hook the phone up to a TV anywhere with a HDMI cable a play the movies and clips on the TV screen in HD. Can your cute happy go lucky iPhone iTunes sync do that? Forget iPhone, even your external hardrive can't do that. Welcome to the future Mr Caveman.

Hard drives on phones can be locked with a personal code, in case you didn't know. Why carry an extra external hardrive when your phone can carry data, it's called the future and all in one device, but i guess Apple are not there yet as they are yet to busy sucking money of customers with their iTunes scheme. By your logic you should be carrying around an extra camera, mp3 player and a Nintendo Gameboy. So why don't you do that? Because if iPhone could be used as a external harddrive, then you would, just like the other stuff i mentioned. But you can't cause iPhone can't do it. If people are so happy with their Apple locked iPhone and iTunes syncing, then why the hell are 80% av the iPhone users jailbreaking their phones to get away from that nonsense? Answer me that? I have never in my life heard of a corrupted harddrive on a phone. In any case you just reformat the drive and resync your data then. I, personally refuse to use my iphone as an external harddrive. It's a mobile device. What if I lose it or it gets stolen. Bye-bye data. Practical and smart people would buy external hard drives to save data and back up files. I actually have several external hard drives. I can't believe there are actually people who uses their phones as their external hard drive.

when i got my n8 same thing i used my 16gb microSD card and made it 32gb
and yes that's a lie cause i've used a few iphones the display ones and was able see it get messed up while transioning from app to homescreen and it froze in the middle
