Samsung S8500 Wave all set for a Bada 1.2 update early next year

27 December, 2010
Bada OS is barely a year old and it has already hit version 1.2. The latest version was available on newer phones but the original Samsung S8500 Wave will be getting it too starting early next year in Europe...

davidb, 13 Feb 2011when will BADA 1.2 be available for Aust GT-S8500 users?I have three (3) Samsung Wave GT-S8500 phones running Bada v1.0 on the Australian Virgin network.

I emailed Virgin Australia on 7th July 2011 about Bada v1.2 and got this reply "So far, we're not receiving any communications or updates yet about its release. You may contact Samsung directly on 1300 364 746 for further assistance."

I then contacted Samsung Australia who advised me that they have no plans to release Bada v1.2 for the Wave GT-S8500 phone.

I've just now purchased two iPhones and have put my three GT-S8500 phones up for sale.

As far as I'm concerned, Bada is a "dead" OS and Samsung has lost my business forever.

Psquare, 08 Jan 2011@sayan... the Wave s8500 are less available bcoz the Amoled... moreThanks for your valuable speeches.

I know that Samsung Super AMOLED screen is very rare & I have checked out the recently launched Samsung Wave II,but Super Clear LCD can't match with the Samsung Wave's Super AMOLED.
There is a far far difference between those two types of screens. The former had better contrast ratio, better viewing angle& was less reflective,in one word awesome.

Please suggest me a Phone, that must have Super AMOLED display like The Wave (S8500)within 18000.
                          Please reply.
A lot lot thanks to you.

apparently samsung doesn't want to stop its Galaxy sales within the wave being available in the market
If you go to a mobile fone shop
you see the BEAUTIFUL wave with bada OS and 3.3 display
the Galaxy with Android OS and 4.0 display
and you see that HUGE price difference
who do you think is gonna buy the Galaxy ? ;)

The super amoleds in Samsung's quota are likely being redirected to Galaxy S & the new Omnia Windows 7 phones as they give a better pricing for the screen. However, Samsung is seeking to replace the Wave with the Wave II (S8530), which has a 3.7" LCD screen (Samsung calls it the Super Clear LCD display) & sports Bada v1.2.

the problem is on the production of super amoled... the production of super amoled cant satisfy the demand right now...

                                    I know both of them
S8500 Wave much faster than HTC Desire

But unfortunately, much less apps for bada OS yet.

S8500 the best hardware for a good price, without plenty of a good application
