Selling adapters seems to be the new business idea to everyone. I Don't understand this... If 90 ℅ of buyers prefer old audio jack then why companies are removing it. Apple is apple, not everyone have that kind of customer loyalty.

mir, 24 Nov 2016Its not really stupid if you look at it through their eyes.... moreWith this being said, next time consumer will probably choose different brand, that still offers a phone with mini jack. So the companies really hurt their own, long term sales with this kind of approach. Especially in Android world, with huge choices around, they really have to start fighting for customers, not push them away with bad ideas.

Anonymous, 24 Nov 2016why people acting like gonna kill themself when apple get r... moreIt's not what they did, it's how they did it. "We are the only ones courageous enough to take this step". That's why everyone is thrashing Apple. They are always glorifying "their own" ideas...even if the same ideas are out there for years already. Messiah complex is a biatch, when you fail to deliver.

Any phone with non-removable battery has lower resell value, because the battery is non-removable, and it has diminished battery capacity.

If they offer freed adapters that means that they acknowledge that they removed 3.5 mm jack pointlessly. Instead of copying Apple they should have kept it or include an alternative high quality headphones with loads of features which would outweigh analog signal opportunities. Then people could see actual benefits. Let's not be iSheeps.

They shouldn't have removed 3.5 port in first place... Now they are just trying to save their reputation but harm is already done.

Anonymous, 24 Nov 2016So more and more stupid decisions to ditch the 3.5mm. Gu... moreIts not really stupid if you look at it through their eyes. Since only one port remains for charging and listening to audio. That port will ge worn out faster, which by then the person will have to send it in for repairs or just buy a new phone altogether. Remember that companies are only out for your money and not your well-being as a customer.

Manufacturers want to force consumers to buy new phone earlier than they would have done otherwise, and they want to sell more products like an adapter or new headphones with USB plug or bluetooth headphones.

So more and more stupid decisions to ditch the 3.5mm.
Guys remember - if you listen to music often your USB port will wear off much, much faster. Normally you use the USB port to charge the device - often once a day. Now if you want to plug in your headphones every time you listen to music you multiply the plug-in/plug-out cycles.
