When walking or going for a run the idea would be NOT to have to take your mobile too. The gear had ita own sim card and number and therefore was a stand alone device Samsung have regressed here my gear however had a plastic charging cradle that was always breaking so the fized that and then made the watch/phone redundant. Way to go

We are close to the lens. The important thing is that it is independent from the smartphone and can send and receive calls.

I'm actually not fan of smartwatches at all.
But having independent Samsung Pay and independent phone-call-possibilities on the hand make some sense. The best and most beautiful smartwatch , hands down.
Still prefer slim elegant arm band with same functions, instead. Even if connected with the phone, to do so.

LG superfan, 27 Nov 2016Gear S3 is the best smartwatch great design and all but I r... moreim going to use it for spotify and s health when im out walking or running. no need to bring the phone anymore. sadly i need to dl the playlist tho, bc denmark doenst get the sim version :/ i wish sammy dk would listen to the ppl and demand what they want, instead of just saying ok we only take this and that home.

Gear S3 is the best smartwatch great design and all but I really dont see the need for smartwatches aside for activity tracking I would rather get a normal watch than smartwatch

can someone who owns a smartwatch tell me how these things record your vitals on the run?? afaik a pulse oximeter needs a steady hand to measure..i can't even get a good read if a person is shivering with fever
