IDC's forecast: Android's 2016 market share to be 85%, iOS' 14.3%

In total, Google's and Apple's mobile operating systems will claim over 99% share, leaving just 0.4% share for Windows Phone and 0.3% for others.

        Just one big LOL at Microsoft. A true definition of an epic fail. So many billions wasted pushing this doomed windows mobile it's sad. *Looks at drawer to my lifeless Nokia 930 and when back at Nexus 6P, the right switch was made:D

          AnonD-443963, 30 Nov 2016I can bet that iOS will be below 10.... And if they consid... more...Not to mention the increased production cost if made in the US, so expect the prices of any US models to even more exorbitant...

          But I think it is very hard to predict anything as so much depends on whether one or more brands comes up with something (useful) new... The last few years have only shown marginal model evolution YoY, nothing even close to revolutionary new. And still many that like one hand operated devices hold back on their rather ancient devices, as only mediocre devices are offered in that form factor. Three-parts foldable devices could be what make them upgrade.

            These guys also predicted Windows Phone will have 20% share at one point lol

If they fall below 10% it will most likely be because Android is growing faster on the low end, a space they don't compete in. Not because they are selling 30% less.

                  I can bet that iOS will be below 10....
                  And if they consider manufacturing iphones in US, then the market share will fall below 5% because apple will face big boycott in china and India.
