i have one of these phones and after 4 days somebody touched it and the power went off and can not be put on. After a while, i removed the battery and placed it back and it went on already... whew! i was afraid it was destroyed.

I have the Captivate right now, and upgrading to the 2.2 at this moment. I can't wait for the Infuse to come out. I would even add a line just to get this phone.

still waiting on 2.2, 23 Jan 2011no, there's not a 2.2 update for the captivate...get your f... moreI use to own the Captivate, and upgraded it to 2.2 back in November.. works great. So yes the 2.2 upgrade for the phone is out. You just have to find it.

yeah, i bought my captivate months ago and upgraded to 2.2 right away. try doing some research about upgrades before you complain about it

Well I see they Samsung will get a 2.2 phone on the ATT network. Thanks for thinking about your i897(Captivate) customer who was still waiting for 2.2! This looks like it will be a good phone, but I will never buy another Samsung phone untill they show a better comittment to there customers. If you get this phone don't expect 2.3 or higher.

man....., 15 Jan 2011y does 1 thing always has to lack???they should hav used th... moreI imagine the reason for that is because they have their own dual core soc, which is superior to that of the tegra2, and which i believe will be used in a phone that will be unveiled in february at the mobile world congress... Or at least that is what i am hoping for.

Looks like a great phone, and one I'm interested in, and yes it'll be available for AT&T customers. No word on pricing yet, but I can't imagine it being more than the 199 we charge for top end phones. I'm not big into photo taking, so I'm more interested in the Atrix, but it's nice to see more android phones showing up. If I remember right it won't be available till quarter 2, whereas the Atrix and the HTC android will come sometime in the next month or two, I'm sure it will still be well received.
