deep space bar, 06 Jan 2011what i read anything not HSPA or HSPA+ is considered 4G Not true, the ITU did not consider LTE or Wimax or HSPA+ as part of its 4G standards. However since most network carriers in the US didn't give a crap what the ITU thought and kept releasing advertisement claiming their network as 4G, the ITU eventually buckled and basically said "okay you guys are right, that is 4G."
Googling will show many links with this info.

hoang, 06 Jan 2011LTE Advance , Wimax 2 are 4G . LTE , Wimax aren't 4G . If we're going by the LTU standards, then LTE, WiMAX and HSPA+ is now considered 4G. They're the ones that have final term on what can be considered 4G. However its up to the personal user to interpret what's 4G or not, as technically HSPA+, LTE, and WiMAX are not HSPA+(3G), so it can be indeed be seen as 4G.

TSH, 06 Jan 2011I like the dock idea too, but unless it becomes a standard ... morenot everyone wants a smartphone
not everyone wants a touchscreen
not everyone wants a large display
not everyone wants a gps in their
phone not everyone wants a QWERTY
keyboard phone so nokia and other companies do
people a huge favour
and make those phones that fit
peoples needs plus not everyone wants an friggin
iphone and it shows a lot now
everyone wants a phone that works
properly and that can hold a signal
PROPERLY and it's not an iphone iphone doesn't tend to eveyones
needs just understand that but
HTC,Nokia,Motorola,Samsung,LG..ect
can cause they think about everyone in
every situation possible apple they only think about how
many pockets they can get their
iphones into
and not even care about peoples life
style or situation

It would be great if instead of carrying around a notebook a professional could just dock his smartphone - whatever it may be - into one of these devices no matter which office he is in.

Anonymous, 06 Jan 2011i live in uk and it still use 3gThis phone would work, HSPA+ is backwards compatible with regular HSPA which is 3g. HSPA+ is just higher bandwidth capacity HSPA. Most people consider it 3.5G rather than 4G.
