Update the C3-01 in aluminium with LED torch, wifi, email and better Camera software. The camera software and zoom on that phone was shit, and the touch screen kept breaking (I went through 2 of thoses phones and one x3-02 which used the same touch screen hardware. I would still have that phone if the damn touch screen didn't break so easily. Google it you can find people complaining). Also add GPS and Acceloremeter. Symbian OS only, I like my 4 day phones.

Update the Nokia 3310 as your basic entry nokia phone. Blue screen and LED flash light, maybe build in a SD card so it can play music and enable USB tethering for inet access via a computer.

Pay WhatsApp, Skype, Snapchat, Kik, Viber to do a software port to symbian so we can use their software. Every one always posts in the phone threads about whats app. Oh and a youtube player on Symbian OS would be nice even if it's only 3gp.

I only use WhatsApp and Tinder on my Samsung Android. I like the camera OS, The 'Text' Mode is useful in camera mode for photographing receipts for tax purposes.

Oh yeah and maybe better Sound hardware than Apple, because it's all about that bass!

I want a working C3-01 !!! Thanks for reading

1---- Indestructible ---> Need to do away with Display Glass ---> Currently less scope for cheaper alternative
2---- Value for Money ---> Need an innovative-breakthrough design to survive in the crowded market. The Nokia we knew was Good at it. Need to wait and watch.
3---- Work-Work-Work ---> Can't b a mainstream focus point. Compare it with the IBM thinkpad, This segment is important, but not a number maker.
4----- Photog ---> Working on its strengths, with appropriate price points can capture market!
5----- Go Wild ---> Please! maybe limited editions only!

6----- Maemo ---> Nokia needs to parallely start making a robust alternative to the existing players. Needs high levels of foresight to get it going!

make an all-round Android phone, just like the original Nokia did with the Nokia N95.

Nokia was synonymous because they tried to be "original" with their own things unlike the rest of the manufacturers, like the mechanical shutter, huge camera sensor, Xenon flash of the N8 and 808 PureView and of course their own OS Symbian and MeeGo. The returning Nokia I feel is not the original Nokia.

The device should have this - The camera sensor of lumia 1020 with OIS.. The OS of N9.. The stereo speakers of 6233.. The battery of 1520.. The design of lumia 830.. The screen should be ClearBlack Puremotion QHD.. And of course the built quality of 3310.. That is the perfect phone

With the CEO's comments, I have more belief than ever before that this will be a successful comeback. His comments of 'staying true to the Nokia name' in terms of reliability, design etc. were very good to hear. These are Nokians at heart that will guide the comeback. I really can't wait!

I'd love to see a N900's design, I had two, make it with between 5,5 and 5,8 inches FHD or QHD screen, a good chipset, 4 or 6 GB ram, 64 + microsd expansion, a good camera 16 or more mp, 4k video rec and I'm on it.

                      O God.
They mentioned 5800, but not the legendary N91. Can't believe this.

I believe they should make "Media phones". Phones excellent in multimedia aspects, sound quality and all, even if the OS is so so.

Well, now Nokia is rectifying the OS issue by switching to Android, but its arsenal of tech advantages has dissipated. It’s harder to build a bad smartphone than a good one these days, and high-end design is now a standard expectation rather than a unique reason to buy one device ahead of the rest.

All the best designers and engineers of the former Nokia mobile business either moved to Microsoft when the latter took over or quit to pursue independent projects and startups of their own. The name’s still the same, but the expertise is gone. HMD’s executives are talking a good game about "the best designers in the world ... lining up" to join the company’s ranks, but they’ll all be starting from scratch. HMD may retain the Nokia cachet, however it lacks the scale of the old company and so there’s no chance of securing early or exclusive access to hot new tech or materials. Too inexperienced to deliver something exceptional like the Google Pixel camera, too small to command a unique supply chain, HMD’s Nokia is landing into HTC’s position of being a respected brand with mightily constrained capabilities.

There is a very large niche for dumb feature poor phones. For example in my country most people have 2 units, one a smartphone that they keep mostly hidden and the small feature phone that they use while out on the street. This happens because smartphones are a desirable item among small time robbers, as they can pawn/trade them for quick cash. So people rarely use their expensive phones out in the open out of fear of being attacked.
The most popular brands are Alcatel and Samsung as you can get one for about 7 to 15 dollars.

I wish they would make an Android device with a slide out QWERTY keyboard a la E7 style, slide and tilt design.
