The prototype always ugly. I remember back then in 2013 they showcase Note Edge prototype version with super thick bezel. Then the commercial version turns out looking veey nice. And look at what we have now. S7 Edge, the most beautiful curved screen phone.

Anonymous, 07 Dec 2016Good point! Please give an example of your vision of a phon... moreYou're tired of carbon copy rectangle shape? How many years bar shape smartphone had existed? 8 years? Even the phone with keypad that had existed for over 20 years got no complaints. And I wonder why no one complain about the same carbon copy of keyboard that we had been using for more than 100 years??! Geez. You are like a spoiled brat kids that get bored of his new toy so quickly.

I am loving this... Instead of sitting and copying, samsung is actually trying do something futuristic... I can't wait to see, what will it be...I absolutely love, clamshells, and sliders, they were so much more cooler than those clunky bar designs, few 10 years back in time

I've felt restricted several times in the past when using my phone in a bathroom or in a rain (it has stereo speakers on top and on the bottom of the screen so therefore I believe that heavy rain may have an impact) as my phone doesn't have any protection against water damage.

Evilmaddoc, 07 Dec 2016I really dont understand, why smb would be so negative abou... moreagreed, but keep in mind that average person is like that, hesitant to anything new that they haven't tried yet... i'm really excited about the concept read on the article and it has a lot of potential, but we'll have to wait untill it's finished (my guess late 2017 or early 2018 at least) and then i'll rather try it on someone i know that has bought it before buying it myself... after that i'd definitely buy it if it suits me (even if suits a bit less than actual phones) ^_^

You can't deny the fact that the slider and flip phones became loose and malfunctioning over time. Fexibility and waterproofing are gimmicks. The manufacturers need to sell phones every year so every year they need something new to their phones even if it's useless, that they can use for marketing. Most people have never exposed their phones to water in the past 20 years. Removable battery is the important thing.

Cheaply manufactured stuff will fail but not a well made product. Flexibility and water proofing are not gimmicks especially the latter. The future needs to have durable products that can take anything.

I really dont understand, why smb would be so negative about "Patent application"? Like the final product will be exactly like the drawn pictures? These just show the potential we have for cool gadgets out there.
If Samsung or Apple was like average GSMarena user, we would still be using telegraph, "Cause anything new is a no no!"
I would say, go crazy and try new things!
