And that’s just overall score, but the SD835 chipset seems to perform much better than other competitors as well. It is better than the Apple A9 processor (132657), the Kirin 950 (92746), Samsung’s Exynos 8890 (129865) and all the current gen processors. Two really fast Kryo cores (2.8-3.0Ghz) and two power efficient ones (2.0-2.2Ghz). I think that is pretty sufficient for a phone... Octa cores have never really appealed to me.
Hopefully there will be another chip, say SD830, with the aforementioned specs.

AnonD-39937, 07 Dec 2016because it's easier to make a slow core and put 8 in compar... moreBut it's more efficient to have only two smaller cores running for 99% of the time (that is, about 1/4 of the CPU) instead of two big cores running (100% of the CPU). This is the main reason for the tendency for more cores, and for the adoption of specialised cores such as Apple's single controller for the sensors: keep as little as possible of the silicon active for most of the time, and have more power available for the very few moments when it's needed.

Android is the worst OS, no matter how powerful the SoC is, android is unable to utilize it properly. If there were no app gap Windows Mobile would have been dominating the market

Snapdragon is great chip but poor os..

Sd821 on the oneplus 3t has outperform the iphone 7 plus, a10 maybe better on paper but real life performance there's nothing beneficial about it

And Fusion cores are far bigger than cores in Exynos 8890 or SD 820/821.
Even the whole chip is quite bigger for that matter and barely beats Exynos 8890 in Multicore.
Just a matter of priority what they wanna double.
They can make bigger cores that will atleast get quite close to A10 if they want. Maybe even better.

Apple always has better cpus, the Fusion cores are laptop grade. Next year we will see Macbook Air and 12' Macbook with Fusion cores.
