Admittedly, Bluetooth on the iPhone is limited but it still there & serves a great purpose.

Longer/stronger signal range is great to hear. Nothing worse than moving to a further room in the house and hearing music crackle with static!

It is syncing without a computer, if you wanted to have your contacts saved locally
Some if my Mp3 lost album art, and one of my phones had a brilliant tag editor, but denied access to changed songs whilst connected to USB, only after switching phone off & on did the metadata get updated,
Then Bluetooth so still relevant ta dah

Also specifications were already available like few months ago.

hopefully samsung puts this in the S8 ........... they have to up their game a lot since its explosive downfall with the note 7 ........
So far based on rumors ....camera, screen, audio, ram and even price are getting bumped up (minus the headphone jack which is being removed) ...... So they need to make sure this phone is premium to its max; of course also being safe to the max as well
