I bought the vibrant 4g after I had the vibrant so far nothing amazing same phone.I'm kinda dissapointed and want my money back!!!

Hello All,
My recommendation is not to buy this phone... The Vibrant is a better configured phone... This is a total failure on TMO and Samsung... Vibrant owners keep your Vibrants... Aside from the normal TMO carrier neutering of hardware see my reasons below.
This phone has two major issues... First the way the internal memory is partitioned it leaves about 500Kb for use... This make the phone totally useless to the normal to heavy user... I can't load the same apps I have on the original Vibrant the phone just doesn't have the space the way the memory is partitioned (TMO - Samsung total failure). Second, some of the original Vibrant widgets or missing the on the new phone,,, such as the Daily Briefing,,, this just sucks!!! (TMO - Samsung total failure)...
I own a non carrier Galaxy S, the TMO Vibrant, and the new piece of crap TMO Galaxy 4G. The Vibrant is just a better configured phone for the neutered US market...
I was going to use the new Galaxy 4G for app and product development but with the memory issues I think I'm just going to return it and use an HTC phone. The Display isn't that great but at leased I can use it...

Girl562, 18 Feb 2011I want this phone, but will not buy it without flash....Without flash? Android 2.2 has flash support built in.. Even the older vibrants have the ability to upgrade to FroYo..
In related news, i got the new vibrant 4G a little early, low-brow employees at wal-mart put it out sooner than they were supposed to so i took advantage :) It's an excellent phone, of course, as anticipated, in many ways similar to the vibrant, but has some small changes (10% more RAM and battery capacity, some interface changes, comes with some things like doubletwist and other programs pre-installed). All in all, if you're eligible for an upgrade, i'd say go for it. It is quite a FAST phone, and quite possibly the smoothest and least glitchy i've ever used.

HSPA+ is their 4th tier, aka 4th Generation... known to simple people as 4G. Googled information in not always correct. Especially when you have companies competing for the same clientelle basis

What ever they call it. It stil runs Faster than the rest. Who cares what they call it. I know when i get my vibrant 4G my yphone, i mean iphone buddies will feel sad that thier phone is old. Like a razr lol dude 6 yrs of the same thing

But really who has 100mbs of speed for their phones. Give credit where it is due. I will take HSPA+ over wimax or LTE right now

Tmobile and samsung are pretty crafty, not releasing 2.2 froyo for the vibrant while these phone are with froyo out of the box. Can't trust samsung or tmobile. Just gotta wait and see.

To classify as 4G you need to run LTE or WiMax and those will deliver up to 100Mbit/s. Here I would really go for LTE based technology at least if you travel. Countries like Sweden already have LTE 4G networks rolled out in the bigger cities.

I had the original vibrant, it still running 2.1 great now seem like 2.2 update never happend since of the 4g vibrant release. the vibrant has bad battery even when running 2g, I had to recharge daily. Image in 4g..

Nice thing is the low latency as you point out, dream for people how likes gaming on their laptops.

HSPA+ will allow you to down load data much faster and also more energy efficient. Also allows the operators to have more user in the same cell since data capacity is increased. Would not hesitate to by this baby :-)

Yes TMo will move to 42 HSPA+,that is using dualcarrier technology to double the 21.
This phone does not have that capability.
PS. There still seems to be a huge emphases on just comparing speed of data per second. Re the 3G/4G debate.
I wish journos would get a clue here, and realise the HSPA+ is just the same old 3G stuff being dished up for years with data as an afterthought and a huge latency.
LTE is totally different, it's pure packet switched data for all voice and data transmissions and extremely low latency. It's not just an extension to "3G". THIS is what the MINIMUM should be classed as, as "4G". The 4th generation of mobile communications transmission technology.
