You windows fans are so sad individuals. Supporting the underdog who deserves to be the underdog and is only around (still) because of the billions of her mother. It's a bad product, completely closed source and imodifiable (unlike android), with only half the capabilities and polish of iOS. Its sole purpose seemed to harm the success of the other too.

Glad to see it fail, it's not the other two are saints or anything, they at least try though. Windows mobile is half hearted, weak and an obvious after thought.

The one percent statistics you are referring to, was the earlier sales stat of Lumia 950xl when it was first launched, silently and steadily MS have been selling the L950(xl) through various ads and promos. Every time it goes out of stock, guys like you go to the internet and announce falsely that MS has abandoned the device, shortly after it will re-stocked and resume sales again.
1% of earlier sales of L950(xl) does not represent actual stats of windows phone users. There are lots of people today that updated their old Lumia devices and they are still using it till date. How do you quantify that?
A tablet was advertised, if get a desktop mode it is double blessing.
You said in one your post that last year the same company made a dual boot tablet of android and windows, but this year they decided to go with windows only. This should send a message to you. Better go and beg Xiaomi to make for android.
I will not reply you again cos your username is anonymous, you are nobody. Get a username I might reply you.

No matter whay OS you use there are options to use FTP. People have been using Window long before Android or iOS came for FTP.

And I am sure Xiaomi did it's research properly before deciding options.

Regarding the Windows 10 OS, I have a Teclast running it and its all pretty slick assuming you are not running too much. It is what it is, a quick email, web and doc edit platform.

Trying to use Desktop Windows is such a small screen is almost laughable. I've seen people struggling with 9 inch netbooks in the past. I remember clearly asking them "is it worth it"? Just a few inches bigger/pricier gets you a productive size.

Do not kid yourself though, Windows is only productive for those who never learnt to work Linux. I mean only lately they added virtual desktops, what's more is needed to show that M$ sucks and is only used because of those fat enterprise/government endorsements.

It's a mediocre OS, that has no apps. I hope Xiaomi change their mind and fast , otherwise this device will not sell. I mean tablets sell badly enough, put Windows on them and see them completely die off.

See Microsoft knew that the desktop... moreTablet mode is different from laptop mode, it is not because it sucks as you claim, it is because they designed for touch with different user experience. That's why an Ipad (which is a tablet) is different for a Mac computer.
There more apps available on windows 10 tablets than on windows phones, now if people who use windows phones are satisfied with available apps, how much more will they be satisfied with a tablet that has more apps? But you don't know this cos you've never used one.
While the term "productive OS" you used in your comment in relative. Some users that have experienced windows 10 have claimed that it is more productive than using an android device, some even swore never to use any android device again.
If you want Xiaomi to make an android version of the device, why don't you send them an email.
Some people don't actually like android devices, some do. Life is all about choices and the whole world cannot be android.

See Microsoft knew that the desktop mode suck for tablet use, so they created the tabelt mode. So far so good. Try to use then any app outside Microsoft's one on tablet mode and you're done for.

That is the issue no (tablet) apps. Now if you mostly use your device as a laptop that's OK. But at 9.7 inches you'd be mostly using it as a tablet no way around it.
