The best would be JDI or Sharp OLED but they will not sell to Samsung, they will only sell to Sony/Panasonic/Toshiba/Sharp. Sony now commands a 40% market share of the high-end TV market, they are doing much better than Samsung here.

OLED is harder to yield compared to LCD, they can save manufacturing costs by choosing LCD

Good news, im all for buying an aquos tv next time then, which may happen very soon since i need some 1080p monitors any way. i had no interest in sharp when samsung owned a share, foxconn otoh is great, my best mobile phones are made by them.

Anonymous, 15 Dec 2016LCD is better than OLED. OLED burns in.And loses in almost all else... Also thats a problem that has been "fixed" quite some time ago. I still want to see a flagship tv or flagship device with burn ins.
