Plus, the privacy policy change was clearly to monetize the freeloaders -- not the subscriptions.

Sure, it's blanket and could be used for everyone... but who the eff puts sensitive information on the cloud.
Ohhh snappp... here come the "trivial" guy once again.

It has monthly subscriptions. I'd suggest you think and research before making another trivial statement.

                Now who is being oblivious?

I find it amusing how people expect to TAKE everything for FREE and with absolutely no compromises, when what they TAKE has to be run in pretty expensive servers, with pretty expensive connections, in pretty expensive data-centers that need to feature pretty expensive redundancy (so they don't whine when it goes down/data is lost). I'm not even going to address the time and effort it took/takes to develop the service and applications.

How did people get this oblivious is a mystery to me!
Yeah... they are SO gonna give everything to you for free without wanting anything in return... (ie. a peek into your data)

Or use the google trick to claim that you get less irrelevant ads if you opt in.

Good to know. Otherwise I was thinking to move my notes to another application, and unsubscribe the Evernote. I don't know why they should keep the option to read your notes if you permit. The entire option should be removed otherwise many users including me won't feel secure and comfortable.
