@Thabeef
double tap to wake doesn't need a special hardware implementation (besides a touch screen :p.) There are a huge number of custom kernels for a huge number of devices that support DT2W that didn't originally support it.

AnonD-606387, 17 Dec 2016I got Marshmallow update for my Redmi Note 3 (Snapdragon). ... moreDouble take to wake is not a feature. It is actually a physical tech placed below/above the LCD panel. So updates can't upgrade phones to double tap to wake

It's funny to see that Chinese manufacturers are starting to be better at updates than the ''non-Chinese popular manufacturers'' like Samsung.

There is a mistake in the post, Mi Note top is the Mi Note Pro with SD810 and not the Mi note which has SD801 SOC.

BlazyB, 17 Dec 2016Some people down here are seriously misinformed. As a Xiaom... moresome people are referring to android version update tho, like mine redmi note 2 does updated to miui 8 but it's still on android 5.0.1, which is quite pathetic..

Some people down here are seriously misinformed. As a Xiaomi user myself my Redmi 2 Pro has received not less than 3 updates already and its currently running MIUI 8 and its amazingly stable.

Dear double tap to wake is already there in settings.
I would expect the following in New update though:
1: POP up Windows in messaging app
2. Controlling the failure to receive text using third party ask like Go SMS pro
3. Enhanced dialing screen option
4. Multi Windows mode
5. Default swiping keyboard
6. Enhanced camra performance, specially for Mi max in dark environment (it looks like 2MP) though it is 16MP
7. Advanced scanning option, like that of Camscan
8. Including apps other than Chinese versions in App store
9. Serious improvements needed in default web browser
Thanks
