But like I said, I'm someone who only wants to own phones with a brand that I trust and feel good with. My dad is also like that with all his home products, it has to be a respectable brand. I guess that's why I'm like that too haha. All my life I've had phones only from Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony and Nokia and most probably my future phones will be from these brands too.

Yikes! why so expensive a3 (2017) ? I thought the price compare to the a3 (2016) is going to be slight higher.. but apparently.. it is not ..

450 euroes for a phone with same setup as cheaper oppo phones,a chipset-exynos 7870 that's battery efficient and built on 14 nm tehnology but really WEAK and bad in terms of gaming that is even worse to snapdragon 617.No thanks! Don't forget.It might also include the old android marshmellow and Lagwiz and like late updates.Just see the news on Gsmarena,updates that were for Samsung A5 that should have been released soon they came late.
I can buy an LG G5,Huawei P9/Honor 8,Samsung S7 (by the time they come it will drop it's price),Motorola moto Z play,Alcatel idol 4S and Xiaomi mi 5s plus for this price range.One plus 3T as well but sadly it's not available here.You can also get Axon 7 or Asus phones and many other phones that are better than this.
My honest advice for all potential buyers.Buy yourself any of the flagships i mentioned.You'll be getting FAR more for your money and plus better specs(not only on paper) and great durability and at least more prestige.Samsung instead of making devices cheaper to make up for Note 7 they make phones expensier.Bad strategy by Samsung but oh well.

At least it hasn't gone worse after 15 months of usage but just the same :) I get between 2.5 to 3.5 hours on average with 24 hrs standby. I would like an Android phone with good battery life. I don't want the S7 because it's too similar and too 'close' after S6 release. I realize the A5 2017 would be a downgrade coming from S6 so I'll keep S6 and just patiently wait and see what will be released in the next 6 months. Hopefully a reasonably (max.550 euro) non-edge max.5.2 inch phone with great specs. Brands that I would consider and have a good trusty feeling with are Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony and Huawei is slowly winning my trust but still I'd prefer the others I've mentioned.

[deleted post]...except when you really need a decent phone! Sitting in a hotel room with my brand new Iphone SE work phone needing to read my work emails abroad, it's the only machine which cannot see the hotel wifi network! Even my old personal SG Note 3 with dodgy wifi from too many hard times can see it though won't let me connect. Had to pull out the tablet to do such a simple task which I would have thought a brand new iphone would have no trouble with whatsoever! Even my wife's SG S6 sees and connects fine to it!
Simple things, simple things, yet so hard for some!

I was waiting for the a3 bcz I have an xperia ray, which is a very old and very small phone. With these prices , I guess I will go with the compact x .

Just check how much SoT you get, if its less than 4 hours on light usage (no gaming) then it is really crappy battery life. Remember you are on android, and if you can somehow root your phone, you can just tweak and increase battery life to get about 1 more hour of SoT. Or just swap battery, if you used your phone for almost 2 years and charged your phone 1-2 times a day. This means your battery just went shit, replacing battery will solve problems.
