I've had the v10, the G6 and now the V20, but fortunately never experienced the bootloop. I just hope it stays that way

I woke up this morning and my G4 will not boot. Went down to Sprint for repair of replace. Out of warranty. The told me to replace would be ove $350. Really upset. Only used for about 20 months. Loved the phone - had extra batteries, memory, glass screen protector, nice covers and all. What a waste. I can't get anything off of it so good thing most of my pics were on the micro card. Haven't checked to make sure I can save them yet. Spent the entire day trying to figure out what to do next! Sprint has no contract deals anymore so we have to pay full price for phones. Wish I could get the G4 fixed. Anyone have any luck with repairs? Where should I look for a repair person?

I also faced the bootloop prob with my G4 after an year of use..LG repair shop told that the motherboard is to be replaced which cost around more than half of the original price of G4..didnt go for that,,bought S7 edge .. G4 (Brick) still with me..will never buy LG.

my LG G3 bootlooped and crashed only after a year and a month of use..motherboard issue which LG wants me to pay for almost a price of a new phone...my first and last LG..never buying it ever again!

I loved my HTC one mini but the battery scrapped out after 16 months. Warranty didn't cover but luckily I was able to upgrade at that moment. But that doesn't necessarily mean I would never buy HTC again. Instead I made sure my next phone had a removable battery. When I checked on the HTC much later, since it was off for so long, it started to bootloop.

I was interested in LG phones but it look like buying a LG phone is the same as make a bet. Since LG G2 though out to the lastest V20 many of the phones got bootloop problem and this time LG pointing finger at someone/something else again. LG: "it not our fault!"

I owened an LG G3 last year and it went boot loop, LG Customer Service said they need to change the motherboard, and I was like man the cost is like I can buy a new one lol, they ditched me and I gave up on LG products, no more shitty products LG

I mainly comment on the extreme bias people get over this crap. I still own a v10 and now v20, because even though there's a slight risk, the features and innovation behind the devices still are solely on these phones, and they are great devices. Samsung is a great brand as well, HTC has gotten a bit shaky but they still make quality products. It's the matter of sheer fan boyism...when one company can have an equivalent if not worse in some cases flaw that is recurring in close to the same percentages as another... Not get crap while the other gets dumped on constantly.

What are you guys doing with your phones? I've had three LG flagships, the G5/v10 an now v20 an I've NEVER had an issue?
I work in cellular an I see plenty of boot loop issues, an I'm starting to really think it's a user issue. If your leaving your phone to charge over night regularly, then OF COURSE your sodder connections are going bad, your running them hot 9 hours a day all day long
no cellular phone is built to stay plugged in, that's why they have batteries in them, either way. I doubt "cheap" cables are the issue, but rather people plugging them into cheap AC adapters or over charging are the likely causes,

Anyone saying that people are LG Haters dont know the pain of BootLoop arising out of no apparent reason. its just shitty quality assurance. I was absolutely in awe of V10 when i was taking an amazing trip where i would love to have memories captured and day 2 i wake up to a switched off phone. When switched on gave a bootloop that too when it wasnt plugeed in overnight for charging, i take care of my phones. So if it can fail for me that really is a shitty workmanship right there. Their replacement V10 had same problem, now i have G5 hope it doesnt do the same its not good to lose your precious data as happened to me as i was traveling to remote places and all my pics were lost due to no back up on internet.

I have had a Galaxy S2 simply die, the mobo just fried itself, fantastic phone, but had heat issues. I have had a Galaxy S4 suffer graphical issues, poor color reproduction, then the battery swelled beyond belief (luckily it was replaceable at that time, however it did it to the next one as well!) the battery has been a recurring issue for generations of galaxy phones (google it) but barely anyone cares...it only "blew up" when it got insane on the note7, AND STILL people keep that device.
Also, it took Samsung so long to actually recall the Note7, it took lawsuits, banning, and FCC notifications before they did ANYTHING outside of "begin work on a firmware update to restrict the battery to 60%"
So yes, it is full on bias.

I had a LG G2 and it was wonderful, than i bought a LG G3 and it had a bootloop with 15 months of use, LG was charging U$300 for change the mainboard (a brand new G3 cost US250/280), i bought a new phone, a Galaxy Alpha and it actually have the famous fingerprint reader issue. The manufacturers need make a better quality control.

I had a LG G4 bootlooped this year, it was completely fine until the bootloop issue and no accident occurred during my usage. The repairing center claimed that the phone was drowned, so they need to charge me 200 usd to repair it. If I was not going to pay for the so-called damage that was not exist, they were not going to repair the motherboard also.
So in this case, they just wanna avoid responsibility by creating more problems with you.

I had many friends who use iPhone. They all say the same thing:
When something goes wrong with the phone, Apple repair or replace it VERY QUICKLY (instantly or in a few days). If Apple had put an SD card (and some other OS additions as well), I would buy an iPhone instantly.
Just trying to imagine what to do when I bought a V20 and it bootlooped and distributor asked me to send the phone and wait for 3-4 weeks (it also happens with Samsung, Sony, any other company). That 3-4 weeks will be a nightmare. Friends will joke. I will get angry to myself and to LG. I was really waiting for V20 but... I guess it is better to stay away from those possible nightmare. As an engineer I know this life lesson, if there is 50% possibility to not face a problem, there is 75% possibility to face it! I can't leave anything to luck.
Probably it is wrong flux or wrong solder alloy selection in LG factory (as a result due to high current, some solder gets more loose, loses the contact completely and phone goes into bootloop which will result with motherboard replacement or tricky repair which flows in Youtube). LG Engineers had to fix this single chronic problem in the first place. So, now, I know what to do. Stay away from an LG phone until the LG management makes an official declaration and gives a sincere meeting to mention their excuses (which Samsung made for Note 7 battery issue).
People still buy Samsung phones just because their managent accepted that they screwed! People are not stupid. Sincerety and reliable customer service is VERY IMPORTANT.

Same as others users. Had lgg4 bootlooped. Lg customer services awful. Had the phone a year from new and broke. Useless. Waste of money and time. Never ever buy lg again.
