and android 2.1
battery life is worse then on my friends c7
how about android learning a few thins from symbian
symbian3 with 1ghz would be like 1.2ghz on android
and a 1500mah battery would be like 1800mah on android
so, they dont need a bigger cpu and more ram
and benchmarks prove that, i am not talking out of my ass, like some people

"2-space" or "3-space" widgets), but I think that hard limits on the size and dimensions means all widgets are a lot more compatible.

It's the home screen and widgets on Symbian that is really poor. It seems to be a poor design decision to make all widgets the same fixed size. I understand that they wanted the home screen to work nicely in both portrait and landscape mode. The end result is that it worked poorly in both modes and unnecessarily limited the functionality of widgets. Shortcuts are also really difficult to edit.

I can see where I may want to do that like giving a slideshow of my vacation photos. However, at least I haven't had a need to really do that other than to just try it out. It's like video calling. It's cool and if you happen to want to do it, it's great. However, I haven't really wanted to make a video call with my phone.
I went from an N97 which has a 360x640 resolution up to a Desire Z with 480x800 resolution. I thought the N97 display was adequate, but noticeably poorer than the Desire Z in general. It's hard to really compare resolutions only because there are other differences with not only the hardware, but also the software. Still, for what I use it for, I can still adequately read the text and see the pictures on my N97. I'm going to reserve judgement until I get a chance to actually compare an X7 or E7 up close with my Desire Z.

As a trio of Android, Symbian, and iOS user: I think that the design for this phone is pretty nice especially with 4 speakers (aiming for music). But the major flaw about Nokia is that they are still sticking with Symbian^3 especially with it's horrible UI that have bad "touch screen" experience.
I'm not trolling here but I think Nokia needs to learn a thing or two from iOS and from Android OS for better Touch interface.
Overall, I think this phone will do just fine for Nokia fans.
P.S. they need more RAM and faster processor.

Symbian won't catch up to android but might have a chance against ios and wp7 if it's future firmware upgrade change the UI...

i like it,it's hot and looks very urban, and im happy it runs symbian 3,bcuz every os has its advantages and disadvantages and the only things you can nail on symb is the browser and the too much hierarchic organization, although wise reduced(i mean not iphone or android style reduced) number of menus could save a lot of swiping without using a lot of file management,oh,and the a little bit annoying camera interface

I really don't understand this hate hype about symbian. I don't have a problem with symbian at all. It gets the job done for me. Don't get me wrong, android does some cool stuff but the battery life sucks ass. At least with a symbian OS you don't have to worry about your phone battery dying so quick unlike android.

Nokia have got to stop using these fix focus cameras on it new batch of phones,o.k they admitted they only used these so they could make there mobiles thinner, but how are they going attract buyers, after having used auto-focus cameras, sure this phone will not be made available until Symbian3 gets its First Update an make the Browser better,at least the speakers are not on the back so can lay this phone down with the sound being fully heard,as N8,C7 an C6-01 you can not do this,so thats why the X7 as been created by Nokia

Outdated hardware + Symbian + ugly design (my personal opinion but seems I'm not the only one who dislikes it) + low res-screen + no autofocus = another Nokia failure!!!
