I have participated in Concept since it first launched on Xperia Z3/Z3c, and when I had to upgrade, I was waiting for Sony to announce the next Concept device and I based my decision completely on that. Now I have Xperia X with Concept installed, and I'm more than happy because of that!

              Now you understand why?
Also, those small apps are horrible. One of the first things to delete after I rooted my phone was the small apps framework and all the small apps.
I'm not sure if they are available to download in software updates. My X Z has that option though.

AnonD-64819, 22 Dec 2016so SONYs own music player and album app is gone? if so then... moreYou can just download them from PlayStore. I know for sure the Album and Music apps are available there.
Or if you want something better, root your phone and you will choose what apps to keep or delete. It's that simple..

"but the firmware is a pretty hefty download at 1173MB, so you better have the internet connection to handle it."

It's 2016 GSM? A 2GB download takes minutes? We're no longer on dial up.

For me, this is great!

The Sony multimedia apps is part of what makes sony phones unique and worth it for the price.
Google's standard apps are just boring and basic.

Hope they put back the Sony apps

And I still fail to understand why Sony decided (attributable to Google, of course) not to support the much loved Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact!

And ditching Small Apps was also a wrong move, in my opinion.

I really do hope sony won't go into totally pure vanilla android. They better keep those distinctive xperia features like the vertical clock design, the suggestions tab and the multimedia apps
