Renders of BlackBerry Mercury (DTEK70) appear, show slightly different design

23 December 2016
The location of front camera seems to be different - it's on the right of the earpiece now.

Horrible design, who want to buy a phone with physical keyboard, It is just occupied 30% of the screen, BB will never learn. Get rid of physical keyboard and see the magic :).

You guys are the only ones that are rumoring a Snap821 for this device. All I read elsewhere is a Snap625. Both very nice SoCs but plenty of differences...
(All I'm worried is that it'll carry the same pricetag as the Priv, esp. if it too would get sub-flagship grade parts internally)

What is important to you, privacy în this case is not the most important criteria for the rest of the world. There are other things like built quality, performance, os ease of use, app ecosistem, quality, price. From this point of view i find you opinion very unrealistic. Owning the market în two years sounds more like a joke, not only for BlackBerry but for any phone brand.

I've tried Samsung and IPhone and after all the troubles I've had I went to the Priv and ever since I been extremely impressed. BlackBerry is back and will own the Market again within 2 years. Finally. A fast android device.

                                    Nothing compares to keyboard shortcuts.
Qwerty compromises gaming and multimedia view ability but having up to 35 customizable hotkeys that allow users to perform tasks within apps after only a single touch makes devices like these 2-3 times faster than anything else on the market when it comes to instant communication. superior viewing area while typing, hot key navigation, flick to type keyboard gestures, swiping on the keyboard adjusts the camera (happened a few updates ago on the priv). I know i'm in the minority but there are still people like me who judge a phone on how quickly they can do what they need to do on a phone, put it down and get on with life in the real world. This will be an android game changer for people like me.

It doesn't do anything exceptional. It's not really privacy focused as it still uses anti-privacy software like chrome and doesn't seem to be built with any network security features. So why does this thing exist? Because some one thinks there a niche market for it.
