What is in common?
1- they are Taiwanese companies.
2- were innovative, not any more.
3- No obvious improvement in their phones and their prices.
4- many phones, few are attractive.
5- cannot compete any more with the Chinese companies ( Huawei, Xiaomi, Lenovo, Oppo, One+)
I am sad for HTC , l am X-fan who used the touch pro for 4 years and was very happy. Fantastic phone and ring tone (HTC innovation)

Wrong pricing policies will eat up sales of Taiwanese brands. Look at Xiaomi prices and quality. HTC suffered for this. Now ASUS started. Of course they have other businesses to compensate for this loss and want to get benefit of high prices which carried Apple to this position. But Apple and Samsung are in a different league. Pricing a Huawei, HTC, LG phone with equivalent prices of Apple & Samsung is a damn wrong strategy. Xiaomi didn't do this mistake and they sell like cakes. Some Western person needs to hit on the head of these guys and shout "WAKE UP!".

Asus took way too long in releasing their Zenfone 3 line and they're overpriced as well. HTC had something good with the HTC 10, but ruined it all with their following phones. And Acer are not even trying in the mobile market. They offer some really good budget phones though.

Not surprising at all. the Indian market being the second largest in the world, all these manufacturers products are over priced for their specs

          Asus doesn't know how to do market campaign;
December Mid-Week they're releasing (INDIA) zenfone untra & zenfone 3 flagships.
          Both are extremely over priced,
they should be aware of one fact,
in india they're not at all an established mobile company like SAMSUNG/LG/SONY..
if they price correctly & promo randomly they can hit 3rd or 4th position easily cause their products are good.

Zenfone 4 will be cheaper than Xiaomi 😛

Getting harder to sell smartphones. I dont even consider Acer as a real smartphone vendor. They dont make much phone.

                  Well duh.
HTC is dead. They are not even bothered to push much marketing in Asia nor in their own country.
Asus only just shipped their Zenfone 3 recently, and they are not doing themselves any favor with confusingly dozens of models.
As for Acer, their main business is selling cheap naked (without OS installed) laptops by volume. They don't care about smartphone shipment.

Title should say "Report say "well duh.""
When you only compete by spec, you will never be able to beat the Chinese that can offer same/better spec for less. Never.
