I've owned many Chinese phones, and they're way better than Apple and Samsung, but I don't like OnePlus, Lenovo and Meizu. They're lacking innovation, ideas and, well, support.

Herodroid, 28 Dec 2016dude, but it is the fastest android smartphone. Camera is g... moreWell, i disagree with you a bit (even though I am typing this on the Oneplus 3T) that more is not better / why does one need better. Let us give credit that a Pixel / S7 has a better screen and camera.
I could easily buy one of these, but went for a 'cheap' 3T as i waited for the S8. To my surprise, one real innovation i found in this device, compared to even the top brands, is Dash charging.
This is a case where a chinese company led the way. The phone charges amazingly fast without heating up. I initially thought of not using Dash charging to avoid shortening battery life (assuming it would heat up), but the 3T charges fast while remaining cool as cucumber
I see this as a positive contribution by a chinese company, way more useful than apple's courageous moves

No sd card slot? Sure, thats a bad thing, but 64gb storage is enough, sd cards slows down devices. Mediocre screen? seariously? how 1080p is bad? it is better for battery life and you will not notice a difference between QHD and FHD, why it is soo needed? for VR? is it really worth giving away battery life for VR? sure, if you use VR 90% of the time it is good, but still quality is crap. VR is still a new thinf and technology is not yet ready. And this stuff costs a lot. For 440€ OP3T is just a insane, best deal. Slow updates? It gets 1 official update per month, and gonna get nougat this or next month. Want nougat now? root device and flash any custom rom. "it will void my warranty..." NO, EXACTLY, NO, OnePlus DOES NOT void warranty because of this stuff. If you need all that stuff just get Pixel/galaxy s7 for a lot higher price. Thats why chinese smartphones are good, they offer good quality, good performance, very comparable to 2x more expensive smartphones. Thats why chinese stuff is popular lol. And it does good in competition. Stop blaming chinese manufacturers. More competition = customers wins.

Rambo, 28 Dec 2016It's a shame that people in the Eu/US can only design phone... moreLol, manufacturing in europe/US? are you crazy? in china, it is just a lot cheaper to manufacture, very easy to find cheap and experienced workers, veey cheap to get parts for smartphones, very simple shipping almost at no cost. While smartphone made on EU it will take a lot more time to make a smartphone, also people who make/assemble smartphones will want high wages. Also these parts for smartphones will be still needed to be ordered from china, the whole stuff is just a lot expensivier in Europe/US and this would just make smartphone price jump high, probably 2x times more. Thats why china has MANY smartphone manufactureres, which world does not know about and they aim just to china market. You will see what will happen, when Iphone will be started manufacturing in US. Yes, they are china phones aswel.

I was happy to note that this phone is as solid feeling as my wife's 6S (i am firmly in the android camp), and that oneplus did not skimp on hidden areas like GPS sensor quality, voice quality etc.
And, my previous phones were the S4, Z1 and M5. So i do have some idea on what major brand phones feel like

They are improving all aspects of their phones and are priced just a little bit lower than the S7 edge and Pixel phones to give them the upper hand

Huawei is actually expanding and improving its services and devices, while Xiaomi is doing none of that. Also, Huawei actually improves their own UI, while Xiaomi doesn't. Not to mention Xiaomi's failing, and that they aren't earning any profit from sales.
