Bigger battery is useless if it's not utilized efficiently, not to mention it adds unnecessary weight that might not be comfortable to handle. Better battery technology and utilization, including but not limited to QC, is more desirable. If your 3000 mAh battery can last a week while being fully charged in an hour, I believe you don't need bigger capacity.

      But will Qualcomm ever make a chipset that doesn't have sucky noise cancellation? Qualcomm's Fluence noise cancellation is as mediocre as it has always been, for years now.

        Seriously now, quickcharge harms the batteries. If anything companies should start focusing on power oficiency for real. Im reading about less power consuption every year and it's always the same. Worse battery life unless companies add 3500 mah batteries or something. Look at what happened with the notebomb 7 news.. adding more mah on such slim phones won't go well.
        And go back in 2014 and look at z3 with it's awesome battery life. now look at the new xz with average battery life with the so great power oficient snapdragon 820 and get the picture.
        Enough marketing, more action companies.

          This announcement basically means that manufactures will be able to implement this SQC in their devices (or better said, release devices with this SoC since most manufacturers already know the details of this SoC and already are using test units in test devices)

              Anonymous, 30 Dec 2016if kirin is that powerful then why oem doesnt use it? i onl... moreTwo years ago, Kirin was actually nothing, even worse than MediaTek, so no manufacturer would use it, and since it was built by HiSilicon (a Huawei subsidiary), it was only used in their devices, but now, some manufacturers, corporations and other processor makers are waking up, and are realizing that HiSilicon is getting better and better, more poweful and starting to become a threat. A big threat. The Kirin 950 and 955 were successful, and the Kirin 960 is even better than the SD821 and Exynos 8890. Use Google. Meizu is already starting to think about using HiSilicon processors are they're great, and HiSilicon will get even better and better next year and in 2018. Prepare to stop thinking bad about Chinese manufacturers ;)

                    The Kirin 960 is the 2nd best mobile processor after the Apple A10 Fusion, and it beats the hell out of your puny SD821. Kirin 965 or 970 in 2017 will also beat the hell out of the SD835, X30 and upcoming Exynos. Learn to use Google and read, and then come to comment. Also, apparently you know nothing about mobile processors, or processors at all, if you're saying that. lol

                                        as apple user I do miss quick charge A LOT ! :( it takes mind boggling 3 hour to charge my iPhone 6s plus. get your shit together apple !
