It makes no sense, fingers are fat and big , thus less accurate and in need of big elements. Microsoft completely missed the point by throwing a touch panel and calling it a tablet. 2in1s just die already...

Do you want me to show to you tablets sales? Only Steve Jobs could do good tablets, Steve Jobs is dead so is his idea. Give up on this fad, you spoil it for the rest of us.
Like that terrible 3D fad on TVs delaying the advent of *really* good image quality for 2-3 years because everybody and his dog was trying to find techniques for "good 3D". Once the dead weight was thrown away we finally got goood displays with real blacks (quantum dot tech can create almost perfect black in LCD displays).
So it is you that should stop holding us on the past. The future is ultra light bezeless (thus ultra small for the screen size) ultrabooks with endless battery, more than one port (and yes carrying extra accessories is annoying, even the charger is too much, a real laptop should be really mobile, nothing else needed).
I bought a Surface Pro 4. Worse purchase ever. My Dell XPS blows it out of the water with the bigger screen, almost same size/weight, no need of dongles, twice the battery life... and all that because someone wanted to use a pen on his device... It's.just.not.worth.it.
If you are a designer, fine! Just call it what it is, a niche product. I'm not against the Surface Pro line as a whole, I'm against its prominence. It *will* die a horrible death (because most fads die), I just hope that it will happen faster so that we will get more competition on the grown ups game.

Don't force your opinions on others. 2 in 1 can be used in all laptop situations and tablets too. Surface book is not only 2 in 1. Surface book is another 2 in 1 which don't have screen heavy problems.
And it's funny how you disregard pen usage because not many people use it. And follow that with more ports. Like everyone always use all the ports on their laptops. If have so many things to connect to your pc than adding a little USB hub in your bag should not be a big problem.

Looking at hp spectere which is 10mm thick, I think the next tab pro s (higher end) will be i3 powered.

AnonD-210527, 31 Dec 2016There is one thing that a laptop is bad compared to 2 in 1/... more...and there is a million things that is better. Keyboard heavy (easier to work on many surfaces), bether keyboard, better battery , more ports all for similar size/weight as 2in1s.
Pens are useful only for a minority and only a minority of 2in1s give pen suppoRT anyway ... so yeah, just f'ing die already you silly fad.

There is one thing that a laptop is bad compared to 2 in 1/tablet. Writing with stylus pen.
Surface line up have its success based on 2 in 1 devices. So of course they have market and they deserve the spotlight.

If it has Microsoft on it means bad or non existent tablet apps. Better call it what it is. An ultrabook with a bad keyboard and touch.
I'm waiting still for a good tablet (small/light as a book, I.E. around 10 inches , less than 380 grams / 10 hours of screen time and good mobile app support).
Until then we'd be getting shoddy 2in1s.... ridiculous!

Was like tho no mainstream OEM will jump on Windows 10 for portable devices then it started with 2 in 1s, now the tabs are absorbing them next would be when full blown windows 10 start running on phones then MS would take over the industry again. Find your amour Apple and Google 😂😂😂😂😂😂
