I live for good cameras, but COME ON. That Apple does it does NOT mean it's cool. Think for yourself for once.
The Mediatek chip could be spectacular. Since they're so foused on the camera they might finally make use of MTK's theoretical 480fps capability (http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/07/15/mediateks-new-mt6795-chip-supports-480fps-1080p-video-and-120hz-displays/) [Though something tells me Mediatek has just been bullshitting].

I've got an actual sound setup that I often plug my phone into to listen to pandora or whatever. Losing 3.5mm means I can't use that and charge it at the same time.

If Samsung and Apple (The two world leaders in phone manufactures) are doing it, its probably a good idea! Embrace the change, they wouldn't have done it if it wouldn't come with benefits!

1st: I don't see any curve screen here..

2nd: GSMArena fail to see that this will be the first phone to feature touch sensor on the length of its sides.. There will be no camera button, volume buttons or lock button.. It will be touch controlled as the picture suggested.. This will be the first phone ever with absolutely NO buttons and ONLY touch operated.. Wonder how to turn this phone ON

No jack - no buy. I won't leave all my headphones and earphones behind, because HTC made a stupid move. My prediction - HTC will fall this or next year.

I don't mind with the specs other than for that mediatek chipset. I was hoping for a snapdragon.

I do it with removable batteries too - my price limit is $250 - $300 (And i only buy models with 2 sim slots with dedicated sd slot. Of course, would never buy one without a 3.5mm jack, unless there's no choice) and i'd never pay more for a phone with no removable battery.

Instead of innovation we go back to 2008's featurephones and worse. I have HTC M8 since 2014! and guess what, it is better than all my other smartphones I used (Note 1,2 , S3, S5,S6 as well as LG G3 and G4, and apple s5s and s6).
HTC M8 unlike previous ones up there, never hanged, never have to reboot due to freeze (unlike Samsung), I have installed right now 281 apps, no slow performance at all, rooted and still have updates (but you have to reroot again), Sense UI with marshmallow is smooth, battery life is OK after 3 years use (battery enough for around 16 hrs with high use)

The only thing that I don't like about it is the camera, low resolutions

                                        *first to implement android
*first to use metal uni body
*first to make black metal uni body (and red, which Apple and Samsung will sure copycat)
                                        *first to use usb-type c
*first to use the USB - c port as headphones jack
*first to put the finger sensor on back
*first to make so many software features we see on modern smartphones (you can Google it) like reducing the resolution on games, etc
