I do like the high end Lenovo ThinkPad ,Business laptops. Had mine 7 years now. I wonder what the difference is between the current X 1 tablet and the new.

Anonymous, 03 Jan 2017"heeeey...really?do you know anything about thinkpad series... morepeople seem to forget that "Lenovo" and their "Thinkpad" rage were all bought from IBM. I think the poster obviously is thinking about those old machines which were tough..
Now the current owners of the Lenovo brand which are a Taiwan based semiconductor company have tried to innovate with an already established brand. They are prone to fail, but at least they tried.

I have the ThinkPad X1 Yoga from last year. I have to say it gives me the best PC laptop experience in all my years of using laptops. The new spec looks impressive. If I need another laptop, this is the one I would get.

mantis, 03 Jan 2017heeeey...really?do you know anything about thinkpad series?... more"heeeey...really?do you know anything about thinkpad series?they built like a tank...best quality you ever seen in your life...waterproof dust proof...anti shock and freeze...work at highest temp...what do you want from laptop?and greate performance without any problem...go and buy your doll, and don't speak about tanks"
LOL, this poor guy. Bought into the marketing and never looked back.
Go ahead and submerge your new Thinkpad in water. Go ahead and drop it and see how well it still works. LOL.
We'll wait a few weeks for you to buy another laptop to respond with.
Thinkpads were never ruggedized (that's the Dell ATG and Panasonic Toughbook). They were business class machines. The Thinkpad designers stopped innovating when Lenovo took over and the Chinese lost all their US military contracts.
Today it is not built any better than the Elitebook/Probook or Latitude/Precision line. Lenovo has very little attention to detail and your screen will be terrible and your plastic will crack under normal use and you will have throttling, especially on the $2500+ P50. Thinkpads have not been good computers for going on five years now, but you people keep buying them because you know no better. You are no better than an Apple fanboy.

No thinking about real professional user needs: classic keyboard, higher hinges to raise the screen up above the base not behind the base, more vertical space 3:2 screen ratio is so needed in Yoga - just open a book or magazine in tablet mode and look at the screen - dumb 16:9 gives you wrong proportions when you hold it vertically and try reading or writing. Lenovo designers do not seem to pilot or use their own machines... Generating too many devices and not giving the right config choices. DISAPPOINTING.

What is interesting tough, is that the OLED variant, one that should be more efficient than an LCD panel, has literally 6 hours less of battery life for an extra 30 nits of brightness o-o? That makes no damn sense, unless its using an Always-On technology!

Thinkpads have gone to crap. Lenovo has ruined this brand. The P50 and P70 were plagued by cheap displays and cracking plastic. No thanks.

Revealing so many Thinkpads without actually thinking about consumers . Strange.
