Manufacturers who tweak the cable would end up having to pay OnePlus for using their technology.

Lol.. Heat are given off in Watts not volts.. 5V x 4A = 20W more heat than 9V x 2A = 18W.. You cannot bend physics.. It is the battery tech or the heat management that allows it to charge cooler than others.. And that 4A is no play either.. Get that 4A through your finger and your heart will stop beating despite the low voltage..

Yes you are having less Omes generated but more electricity will be sucked! 300 times. You still have to have the whole cable and charger for it work.
once new Charge 4 is our some one need to do a scientific test to see which one is really better

So basically what you are saying is that the catch from having DashCharge would be that you need Oneplus's cable and power brick for it to work otherwise the cable might just burn? or the power brick overheats? Also if DashCharge relies more on the power brick and cable, isn't it really easy for manufacturers just to tweak their chargers? Or is my logic completely wrong.

I thought the Dash charge is solely a gimmick, but I was wrong. I found it is faster and cooler compared to my previous device that utilized QC 2.0 .

The disadvantage of the a low voltage, fast charging higher gauge wire in the cable (as seen in the video) because of the increased current requirement to achieve the same amount of power. Higher current is a higher risk with lower quality cables as it can heat up and burn the cable. That's why a 12v car battery has far thicker wire than a typical 110V wall outlet appliances.
The 9V quickcharge won't require a heftier cable to achieve the same amout of charging capacity.

I think this is good idea: after full charged! Sending One order to adaptor for automatically stopping or cutting charge!

More Ampere means more thicker cable,normal USB cable cannot deliver more ampere
QC quickcharge requires only a QC enabled charger and any USB C cable but VOOC/Dashcharge require a special cable and a charger
VOOC/dash charge is already a licensed tech so others want to use the charging tech have to pay premium to OPPO/oneplus and require a new charging circuit.
QC is already built into snapdragon chips(but also require a premium)
