Using touch (with fingers) is nowhere as accurate as using the mouse pointer. And also, no trackpad comes remotely close with what Apple offers so its obvious that other companies come up with other stuff to compete.

Is there a gesture that lets you tap any area of the screen without having to swipe a cursor over to it first? The mouse was invented because we couldn't touch the screen back then. The touchpad is a crippled replacement - except for the gestures benefit. But again, gestures is not what touchscreen is about. Being able to tap to close a window, or drag your windows around WITH DIRECT ACCESS (so that you're not navigating a cursor first) is the benefit I see the most. Same for editing documents. I can touch where I want to begin typing rather than move a cursor there and then click. That's why the Surface is so successful. Microsoft gets it.

Why would anyone want fingerprints... all over the screen? I wish there were a Windows laptop with just as great trackpad as MacBooks have!

I already made a review of the AirBar in my website and I can say this. The AirBar is NOT for MacBooks, the AirBar is optimize for Windows PC.

                    1. The newest MacBook doesn't have USB-A, so you can't plug it in directly.
                    2. The AirBar is actually aims for older PC, and it will work best with Windows as it's is already optimize for touch input
                    3. The MacBook is just not optimize for touchscreen input. Yes, you CAN have touchscreen on your MacBook, but it will be really hard to use because there will be a delay in input and the touch will be inaccurate.

So, my advice is, don't get the AirBar for your MacBook. It's not worth it. Get it for your old Windows PC instead.

I don't see why Macbooks would need a touchscreen when their trackpad and gestures are pretty much near perfect.

Seriously, Apple can not make a touchscreen Macbook so somebody does this. And this ridiculously sneaking behind Windows.
Windows is ready for years about touchscreen notebook.

Why though? The OS is not optimized for touch. Touch is not a good idea for unoptimized OSes. See the Surface Pro series. So much more capable yet still failing to surpass iPad Pros in sales because one is built from the ground up for touch and the other isn't.

Nobdy likes unoptimized interfaces... better drop to clown act and stop selling this product.

Looks like a solid failure, mac users arent udually of the gimmicky type but at $100 its cheap enough that many will order one just for fun and not expecting much from.

The maker knows this and thats why they are aiming for win10 on the other side, more people with a blind thirst for gimmicky stuff there, driving old toyotas with racoon tails on the antenna, definitely a market there.

Interesting... but seems overpriced (like the MacBooks it tries to enhance). Let's wait until more companies produce that kind of accessory to except a more reasonable price.

added wire to an already closed circuit is stupid, it ll knock out critical stuff like motherboard and crucial software like native Karnel(MacOS).
