I may not have an XB headphone or speaker from Sony, but the Sony MDR-V55 I bought for $50 last year still sound great with heavy bass since it's a kind of DJ Headphones. The only downside I had was the plastic build, but for the price, sound quality is superb.

[deleted post]I m not insisting. It's my experience with Beats Mixr and Solo 2. For me Beats are not that good as Major Audio Brands. If you like Beats, enjoy those and that doesn't mean everybody should accept your likeness as a fact. Mixr may be somewhat better than one or two Sony XBs but not all.

[deleted post]I never felt Beats are good when compared to true blue audio brands(Sony, Sennheiser, AT, etc.,.). And the model Mixr is also bass oriented ones just like every beats out there and are pretty average ones.

I currently use Sony XB950APs, so basically the version before these, and they're still awesome today. Gonna wait for the price tag to drop, then I may upgrade to these.

Can't resist the minimalist beauty of the Sony hardware. Xperias also look great but AMOLED looks much better and once lauded Sony battery life is now faded.

No highs, no mids, bloated bass. 220 euro fo this junk ??? I spent the same amount of money on xb 1000, 4 years ago. Do not throw money on XB. Sony 1R are the best from Sony.

BTW, the price in Europe will be :
SRS-XB40 219 EUR (speaker diameter 61 mm)
SRS-XB30 159 EUR (speaker diameter 48 mm)
SRS-XB20 119 EUR (speaker diameter 42 mm)
SRS-XB10 59 EUR
Not cheap at all for the XB40 i don't think this will go againt the JBL Xtreme for example, which is now at 199 EUR, minus the LED effet and all (I had a GTK XB7 and it wasn't that much pleasant because no choice selection of color, here there is a possibility only on the XB40 which is nice) but better sound I think. Couldn't find the number of watts RMS ...

XB series from Sony are bass heavy but still maintain the clarity. As you go up the price ladder you do get better options from Sennheiser, AT and others but still Sony's have got the quality to match. I do own Sony's XB series headphone along with AT M50x and Sennheiser HD598 SE. Sonys are always considered among the best in audio and camera categories.
