AnonD-108057, 06 Jan 2017didn't they say Nougat will not come to SD800 series smartp... moreNexus 6 has the 805 and it's only about providing working drivers, if I understood properly. Sony does not want to do that, but it's done for Nexus 6. It's a Nexus after all, that's how it should've been in the first place. It took some extra time as there were some bugs, as they said, but now it's here and working great.

didn't they say Nougat will not come to SD800 series smartphone as the SoC does not support some of the critical Android 7 features? that's why Sony Z3 series will not be updated to nougat. Now google are approving N on their own devices from the same period as the Z3 series. Cheat?

And Nexus 6 is still pretty much the only 32-bit phone to even get a official 7.1.1 and it's past the 2-year update schedule - it's nice to get the update, even if it was so late. Better than not getting anything. It will also get every upcoming 7.1.x -update, Google itself said this on some post... Can't really recall where, but they've confirmed that. Also security updates for another year or so. But soon it's my time to upgrade to another 6-incher or bigger.

I don't get why Google can't do instant system updates like with every other OS, desktop and mobile, out there.

Anonymous, 06 Jan 2017Still waiting for 7.1.1 for Nexus 6p on verizontry using VPN service to get update. Hope it works.

Anonymous, 05 Jan 2017Get a nexus they said Stock android they said I fail to ... morebecause developers are not that fast to update their apps to support nougat. Also shortcuts is a new android 7 feature. And developers also need to include those in their apps. Nova launcher supports shortcuts.

Both of the previous two posters are such whiners. They are the only Android devices that get updated so fast. At least Google delays and update when the find an issue unlike some fruit companies out there that just break phones at every update then deny the problem.

I fail to see how stock android is any better
Still a number of apps support nougat
No apps support app shortcuts except for google and 1 or 2 other
                          Apps crash on nougat
