Mass Storage mode does not work properly on the SGS. Neither of them have photo editing beyond cropping and basic colour effects. The calendar applications on each of them are somehow less intuitive than the S60 one. Neither of them can easily place music controls, contacts, Facebook, clock and two rows of launchers on a single home screen. I don't know about the SGS, but SE's PC suite just sucks balls. Having to browse five pages of launchers is IMHO far less convenient than having launchers organised in folders.
I speak from experience as much as possible. As I've said, I'm happy to be proven wrong at any time, and have personally encountered the above. Given the superior hardware in their devices, I can only blame the software for failing to meet my expectations. I'm sure there's an application out there to solve most of the above issues, but once again why should the user be put through the hassle of trying out half a dozen different applications in order to find the right one?
Plz lrn2history. Google Maps has not always had offline mode. It has for a while, but not from launch. Ovi Maps has always provided pre-installed maps. The reason I bring up data is that sometimes you just want to see a map of an unfamiliar area - if you're out of coverage GMaps is just no help at all.
As for the purpose of having a smart phone - I'd say that's up to each individual user.

yep, iam nokia fan, but i hate nokia now because their symbian is very bad OS. i start run to IOS and android, they both very smooth and user friendly. i like them..
Nokia is you change your mine to run Android as your OS then i will stick my mine to YOU.
OVI is very bad place for me, your App is amazing if it were in 2005, not 2011..
we are in 2011 now, pls change!!!

Why did the LG prada not share the same success as the Iphone then? Easy, user accessibility. Iphone user experience was far superior. Like I said, they took a smart phone and made it easy for anyone and their grandma to use. They did not make it so you have to hit 5 menus just to change settings, or set up email, or edit calendars. So obviously having capacitive touch screen was not the only reason for iphone success.

You are still confusing proficiency with functionality. So again how is android devices less functional? Android devices are designed as a phone(check it can make calls), Media devices(check it can play videos, mp3s, and browse the web at far better efficiency than your crappy Nokia browsers, oh and yeah Android and iOS has better subtitle support than Nokia devices too!), it can take pictures fine with the camera built in(Although the N8 has a better camera, but we don't market our phones as camera replacements and neglect every other features). So once again how does your ability to use your device faster make Android less functional? You fanboys keep making up weird explanations that make no sense. Just base on the points i've given, Android is more functional than Symbian^3. Nokia can't eve get on screen qwerty correct, they fail at that even though they had such a great qwerty keyboard on the E71, E63, E72, E73?

Slower to use, needed both hands, very different to anything else (painfull learning process) and without any reason - mobile internet was too expensive at the time. Now that's functional...

Android comes with calendar and photo editing pre installed since Eclair(2.1) Froyo makes up for more than half of the android devices available on the market to date so you're not constantly looking for anything. Android allows easier editing of widgets and screen layout creating. We don't need to download "themes" for anything. We can re-size widgets, create shortcuts by 2 clicks, not having to go through 3 or 4 menus. Obviously you have never used android nor looked into it. You're not constrained to Android market, you can freely download applications from any where and install it. Googlemaps has always had offline mode, however if you wanted to look for points of interest you would then need data. However if you were gonna buy a smart phone why not buy data anyways? That kind of defeats the purpose of having a smart phone? Not always being able to connect? I don't know about you, but I have never had a problem using my devices as a mass storage device on any of my android phones.

I like not having to browse for hours looking for an adequate (calendar, image editing, whatever) application; I prefer the PC-like folder structure and the way the homescreen is organised; I appreciate the very comprehensive PC Suite; I prefer to get applications from wherever I please, not just the single sanctioned repository; my phone is a tool, not a toy; I like not having to connect to the 'net just to look at a map, and I appreciate using ~50kb of data to go from one end of the city to the other when navigating; I like a USB Mass Storage Mode that actually works properly.
I am not a blindly loyal fanatic - my gizmos are picked based on what they can do for me, subject to budget constraints. I'm not wedded to the past - I would consider Android if just some of the above were addressed, in particular the PC Suite.

I've also said "5. It is well organised and if not i can put functions where ever i want to make it easier to get to them." You can put everything you need in the main menu, or the homescreen. Many years now.
About the steep learning curve, there wasn't any. People already new how to navigate through menus, no learning process required.
I based my post on the obvious observation that i made when i got the first iPhone in my hands. A true marvel to use, it's so obvious that the screen's sensitivity worked there. If i remember well, there wasn't anything like it for a long time...
About functionality then, i really never saw that at the first phone that demanded the use both hands to operate it. I still find iOS the least thumbable OS and such the last choice. For me.

I'm faster and more comfortable with it. It is that simple. What is it that you don't get?

HD2 can boot about as many OS as the N900 can and has more up to date hardware. Does that make the HD2 Supreme ruler if the N900 is king then? I thought Nokia phones were the complete package? Why are N900 users dying to load android onto their devices then? HD2 windows mobile 6.5 sucks, everyone knows that. That's the reason they're so eager to use Android. You're sure smart huh? LOL N900 running Android Gingerbread, guess what genius, basically everyone who rooted their android device and is using a custom rom is also using Gingerbread.

wat we nokia fans are really sayn is that,put all the n8 distintive feature i.e 12mp xenon,otg,fm transmitter,free maps,hdmi mirroring, and a free app store in any android phone,i will certainly think on swtchn my n8 for it. .we know we dont have the best phone on the market,we are not even trying to have the best phone on the market this instance. .but we want a phone that currently gives us a complete package.an all in one device. .and currently only nokia provides it,i know android upcomin phones are comin with mo bt a dual core phone with no smp support,seriously wtf!!!

Is it Apple's fault they realize that the market likes capacitive touch screen better? No. It's Nokia's fault for using cheaper resistive touch screen to have a higher profit margin for the crap phones they put out. 3. The capacity of a computer program or application to provide a useful function.
So again show me something Symbian can do that Android or iOS can not do? Otherwise Symbian is only as functional as the other two os and you fanboys should just stop using that exaggerated excuse. Truth is you fanboys never even touched an android or iOS device that is why you guys know nothing of battery life or functionality. You say Symbian is easier because you don't need to relearn how to use the OS? Either you're slow or you're so old you can't learn how to use it, but that is not true. I've seen ladies in their 40's use the iphone 4, my niece is 3 and a half years old and she can fully use her ipod touch which is an iOS device. Enjoy your outdated ancient devices while android and iOS eats away at Nokia's market share.

Symbian^3 really did well. But who cares? when meego comes out really wish to Andoid and iOS good luck cos they won't have a chance. When aluminium anodized body,dragontail glass,12mp beast, Meego OS and Dual Core CPU+hercules GPU LOL...
