Without drivers said host controllers would not appear, and would not function. Obviously you failed to look at the newer post in which i post links referencing the standard from USB organization itself and how USB OTG was invented as a supplement to allow mainly dumb devices to download data to host and vice versa. Good day.

i don't want to buy a nokia phone. It is expensive on the first day, but after a day or two the price will go down. I need a phone with a stable price like android phones. If you want to sell the phone it is still on high value. Unlke nokia, once you sell the price will go down to 40%.

In fact, LG and Motorola also beat Nokia on this score so I completely withdraw the statement that Nokia releases more phones than anyone. I think Nokia still beats Sony Ericsson, HTC and of course Apple on this point. Samsung also releases a number for phones only for specific markets which perhaps makes it easier to avoid a perception of delay. I take back the suggestion that Nokia is the overall leader on time to market but I do maintain they have a better record than a few high profile delays would suggest.

india no.1 must trusted brand is nokia over 100 product brand like yamaha,toyota,etc why?because if your handsets bluettoth isn't getting on they give you the new one & iphone antenna fail they didn't give you the new one because you are a biggest lol!

I believe Samsung got that title for 2010. I got 98 results on gsma's search engine for Samsung and 24 for Nokia.

(3) Most readers will understand the point of the "apples and oranges" comparison but you are quite free to label it "stupid and idiotic" if you think that assists the discussion. Personally, I think it is valuable to look at these issues from multiple angles. If as you say the "whole point" is to engage in a lifetime comparison of specific models, Apple will always win and the discussion is over from your point of view and anyone else can have a discussion on whatever terms they freely choose (subject to compliance with gsmarena's rules as to politeness). (4) A few years ago, Nokia had zero qwerty slider phones. Zero. Now they have 9 on the market and two in the wings. Nokia estimates they are the market leader in this area. Even if you think Nokia's estimate is wrong, in this market area Nokia has gone from having zero market presence to having very significant sales. If I were a Nokia fan boy I would say that Nokia is now absolutely killing Apple in this part of the market. (5) It might assist the discussion if you identify exactly which standard you are applying when you say that Nokia is "failing". Nokia is the biggest vendor of mobile phones internationally. Not failing there. Nokia is massively profitably. Not failing there. Nokia is the market leader in some product sectors. Not failing there. Nokia is the technological leader in some features (specifically the best camera and best FM transmitter, both features Apple chooses not to offer). Not failing there. Nokia is more profitable than most other phone manufacturers. Not failing there. Nokia is not anything like close to insolvent. Not failing there. Nokia has not managed to achieve the profitability it hoped to across its entire business. Okay, that is a failure but let us be clear about just what the failure is and what its real significance is. Rumours of Nokia's death are exaggerated.

Arguing with fanatics never ends well, so I'll just say this: I appreciate all technology and what it brings to the user. Symbian combined with Nokia's hardware still serves my needs better than any iDevice/'Droid that I've used.
I'll keep looking at 'Droids and iDevices, though - I'm happy to switch if they meet my requirements. But currently, they don't.

Then Nokia should have no problem making the N8 a best seller should it not? That much influence and you are bound to sell many of your flagships, unless that is your previous flagships was a big flop and left a bitter taste in your customer's mouth. You are also exactly right, due to Nokia's immense presence and influence this market, it affords them the comfort of being able to sell solely in name. Hence the reason why they are able to ship over 100 million devices even though the majority of them are low costing devices.

Nokia has failed at negotiating with carriers to carry their devices. From the X7 being canned at ATT and the C5-03 being canned at T Mobile. Funny how you mention that Nokia's ability to put out products? You do realize Nokia is set back by many delays right? I don't even consider lifetime amount of devices sold because quite frankly that is a stupid and idiotic way to compare anything. The whole point is to look at device life cycles and compare them. It would be more justified in comparing the Iphone 4 when it hits its end of life cycle to the N8 when it hits its end of life cycle. But, they, you probably think it was unfair that Morgan Stanley's survey resulted in 6 Iphone 4 for every Nokia N8 sold huh? Nokia's in ability to adapt to market changes has lead to its constant market share shrink. Nokia isn't the only company that is failing to adapt to changing market, look at Samsung. Galaxy S, Galaxy S 4G, lack of updates, they will surely lose customer base in the near future. Samsung is going down the same path Motorola did when it had the RAZR series release.

To put this in a little context, the Apple iPhone had sold 73.5 million units in its entire lifetime (according to wikipedia) by end 2010. Compare that to Nokia's sales of 123 million handsets in one year. Yes, this is comparing apples (i.e. Apples single high-end model) with oranges or more likely a whole fruit salad (i.e. Nokia's range from super cheap feature phones through to touch screen camera phone juggernauts) but that is the whole point. If your viewpoint is tracking the development of mobile phone technology, you cannot ignore Nokia. Nokia's product range is very diverse and they have access to multiple platforms and technologies. So, Nokia is going to be influential in the technology just by weight of numbers. If your viewpoint is corporate profitability, you cannot write Nokia off. The sheer size and breadth of Nokia's market penetration is immense. They are so big that they can have a massively profitable year and an increase in revenue and it is still a bad year. The fact that Nokia can do this without having cracked the US market is incredible. The lack of penetration in the US is not a flaw it's a massive source of potential. If Nokia does hit the right formula for a phone to penetrate the US market, that will all be cream for them. Given the speed with which Nokia can get products on the market you would have to think that eventually Nokia has a great shot at hitting the winning formula.

Symbian sucks.
Hopefully Nokia will eventually embrace Android and WM7 and develop it's Meego engine. The N8 could have been so much better.
