Sony releases USB-C charging dock

Owners of Xperia X Compact and Xperia XZ could get the device for $50.

This should be max $25, its a piece of plastic with a Micro-USB to USB-C converter. Sony should realize they would make a lot more business from making simple gadgets like these more price competitive.

The XZ's camera is one of the best, way ahead of most flagships, and DxOMark approves it. I would've loved wireless charging only if the charger was included in the box. Samsung offers it, then ask another $5 to pay for it, which, like I said, will likely blow your phone up

                So that is why Sony left out wireless charging, so they could fleace people on $5 of components! For the price of that USB-C dock I bought 5 of these...

                ...for our wireless charged phones (Galaxy S6, moded Galaxy S5, Nexus 5).

                XZ is sexiest phone available today, but camera and lack of wireless charging let it down against Samsung and others.

                  Small foot print so it toppels easy.
                  Too light so you have to either use both hands to remove the phone or you have to lever the phone out when using one hand and potentially damade the port.
                  Also too light as the cable moves it to where itvwant rather then where the owner wants.(usb c is a stiff cable generally).
                  And finally anoying if you have a case with a front cover.
                  I woul have preferred a Sony dock but had to settle for the Kidigi Sony Xperia XZ Desktop Charging Dock due to this devices poor design.
                  Fyi this has been out for months and several unboxing videos exist which do ratifying several of my options.

Just like the dock i purchased for the xz...Kidigi Sony Xperia XZ Desktop Charging Dock. I think but not enough for us both so you'll have to step up and think for yourself

                        I think using a cable would be easier than trying to center your phone so the connectors line up. Then again, I am spoiled by wireless charging.

                          Can I use it for oneplus 3T,it looks good

                              they should consider putting the wireless charging built into the phone!

                              i don't like this dock!

                              maybe i will end up modding my Z5 compact with wireless charging module

                                  Poor design.
                                  You can have a case on your phone but if any kind case with front cover (like the Sony covers for these phones) you cannot open the case without removing from the dock.
                                  Sony does many things well but some of their designs are poorly thought through.
