Anonymous, 13 Jul 2017Actually, that would be the Z9D series, not the X series.XE (2017) series performs much closer to the 2016 Z series than XD (2016). X940E outperforms the ZD9/Z9D in local dimming and uses the same panel, its not the X940D. Also ZE9/Z9E is coming out next month around IFA which will set a completely new benchmark.

AnonD-248589, 16 Jan 2017True blacks with no backlight is not hype. It is superior ... morenew advancments have made lcd reach pure blacks as well. And there a bunch of other flaws with OLED in that they don't last long and when their blue pixels fades away it gives you this yellowish hue.

Sharp should have merged with Jdi, instead of Foxconn. If they merged with Jdi, then sharp could have had oled ready for mass production.
