The phone was released on 3rd November. It has taken way too long to arrive in the UK. With the Galaxy S8, HTC 11, LG G6, arriving in the next couple of months, I think most people will want to wait for those phones. Especially as they are all well known brands. As much as I loved my P9+. Huawei are still unknown to the general consumer. Therefore if Huawei are asking for £600+ for the Mate 9? I doubt it will sell well over here.

To be fair it's not old but the point he is making and I'm inclined to agree up to a point is that in the next 2 to 3 months there will be better phones, possibly even from Huawei themselves with the P10. In the near future we will have the P10, Samsung Galaxy S8 and the LG G6 and most likely they will be higher spec for the same price. At that point this phone will be last generation. Granted using that logic there will always be an excuse to never upgrade but to say the phone is late to the party and will most probably suffer sales wise is to a certain extent true. It should have been released in the UK last year and then this situation would not have existed.
